rSrkt_
Hey, i used to race motocross for 5 or so years, and know that getting into a motorsport usually is expensive. Im not racing anymore and am looking at buying a R31 and doing it up into a drift car, but i have a few questions before i start. I just turned 17, do i need to be 18 to drive on a track? Do i need to have a licence to goto practice days? If so how much does a licence cost? and is there anything else i need to know? cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/154210-getting-into-drifting/ Share on other sites
Beer Baron
1. I just turned 17, do i need to be 18 to drive on a track?2. Do i need to have a licence to goto practice days? 3. If so how much does a licence cost? 4. and is there anything else i need to know? 1. no. 16 and over is usually fine. a road licence is 'sometimes' required but you should generally be ok without, especially if you have a cams licence. 2. No. you will for events though. most competetive drift events in aus have been run under L2NS licence, but I believe that is changing to L2S or even NC. 3. check the costs at www.cams.com.au 4. yes, heaps of things. best to talk to a drift oriented club like initial drift, or nissan silvia or similar. enjoy.
