You mentioned same day same dyno so I have no idea how the tuner felt he was able to give your car back in that state.

You have nothing to worry about going back to them.

Plug the stock ecu in and go for a drive with them and then plug in the $1,000 tuned PFC and drive again. If its as bad as you say then you wont need to say a word. Get him to bring his wideband along as that will have a story to tell as well.

And why would he do the base run in third and final tune run in 4th?

Just dont fiddle with any settings and contact them asap, like be there with the car first thing in the morning. If you have to work then call them up first thing to let them know and arrange a time.

If the tunning shop does not replaced there air/fuel sensor regulary it gives a bad feed back, They are only good for a certin amount of work.

Sounds like it is running to rich, they may not have set the AFM correctly but for that price it should be better than sweet!

if payed a $1k for a tune and its as bad as that id punch the tuner in the head. If he had any pride watsoever in his work it wouldnt of ever left the workshop in that state.

would not idle or rev and missed

at idle it was reading 3/4 load

took out the o2 sensor tested all good

when putting it back in i noticed the wires

on the car loom side were all exposed

repaired the plug and its a diff car heaps of boost

loads in the right spot now i just have to clean my

he still thinks there not much he can do hes going to check it again and

give me a read out

probs i found

wiring exposed on o2 sensor

fouled plugs regaped to .8

Oowch... and they couldn't work that out for you for $1k? Don't take it back until your 100% happy and don't give them another cent.. bastards...

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
