So after owning my Stagea for about 4 months or so, i keep noticeing people taking a real good look at it. Its usually in traffic, but i have come back to it parked to see random people trying to work out what it is ( I guess the tiny Nissan badge on the back doesn't help!). Anyone else get this? I like not having a car that you see every day! >_<

Yeap, nearly a year after I moved to Rocky and I still get people turning thier heads trying to figure out what it is, and it is even worse if I have the sneezer on, then some people get whiplash trying to look to see what made that noise........ but it couldnt be that wagon..........................hang on a sec what is that........................

I am positive that the local Rocky chiropractics have loved my decision to moved to Rocky as thier businiess must have skyrocketed since I got here >_<

...sneezer???

Yep, I love it. Having ever owned falcodores 'n such before it is a bit of a novelty, but the shine is starting to wear off when you are driving and you get some tool in a riced up lancer doing laps around you on the freeway trying to read all the badges. Such is the life of a individual I suppose.

Yep, it is awesome! I can garuntee that everday numerous amounts of time people will be drving past looking back to see what it is.

I was parked at bunning's once and i got back to my car to find an older lady (bout 40odd) walking around the car and looking in the window etc... The people that serve me at servo's at the counter always ask me what it is.

But the most memorable time was on the melb stag cruise late last year, when there was 6 of us all lined up driving down the road, i can only imagine what people would have been thinking.

i get the same questions almost daily.

1) what the hell is that thing?

2) is it a volvo?

3) is it a hybrid AUDI? (cos of the RS4 badge on grille) :(

4) where'd ya get it, how much etc...? :O

as mine is the only one for a fair radius that i know of it kinda sticks out(also prolly would'n help that its bright yellow)

its fun to see all the young fellas pull up and try and nut it out, even had a copper pull me over just to ask all of the above questions at once, even asked if he could have a sit in it. hahahaha he reckons he had seen it all over the town and had been buggin him for weeks and none of the others coppers knew what he was on about so he took some pics on his digital to show em all, then about 3 weeks later got pulled over by another copper to have a look at the car they were all talking about, he asked for a sit then had the balls to ask for a drive!! so i asked him if i could hold his gun while he drove i would consider it! needless to say he declined

i get the looks but i think its more the noise that a volvo lookin car is making haha, lets just say it doesnt go unnoticed around my area :( screamer pipe from the external gate and the spooling of the turbo is very very loud, not to mention the exhuast note at idle when im at petrol stations and people all having a look as it sounds more like a lumpy v8 than a 6

Yeah, I get heaps of looks too. I went to a carwash today and one of the guys working there asked me about it, then I had a chat to him for about 20mins about my car and Skylines in general. He said he'd seen a few around, but never realised it was a Nissan, or Skyline based.

Agree with Andy, no negative attention from cops for me either. I've even deliberately given it a bit of a stab - no hard launch or anything, but enough throttle and revs to make some noise, especially with my exhaust - and the cops looked over, then looked away again.

Having owned unusual cars all my driving life (look up Consul Capri if you want to know). I find myself a bit surprised by the lack of knowledge about the Stagea. The looks though just dont stop coming. It's even funnier when you can hear people talking. I went to meet a mate at the pub and parked it outside. One guy was walking around it, saying "Dunno, dunno, says S, T, A, G, E, A", and of course he didn't know how to pronounce it.... he had a very quizzed look on his face. Then of course I got the keys out, we got in and drove off, with them still cranking their necks to find out. And this was only the first trip out!!

The 260 gets plenty of looks. Having very little in between the tubos and exhaust tips really gets their interest up. I have a guy in an XR6 ute ask me what is was (we were out the front of a pub), I thought here we go this guy is going to stir me up. He commented on how nice it looked and we proceeded to chat about it, it was pretty refreshing really.

Yeah, we had that on the QLD cruise last year. 8 Stag's through the middle of surfers paradise. People were sayin they had never seen one before, let alone 8.

    • 4 to 5 is fine. It will be slow, but that's better than blowing turbos. I don't have a PS pump idle up solenoid on my car, because... I think when we put the Neo in we retained my R32 lines. But.... From inspecton of the R34 vacuum hose diagram, you can see that the solenoid needs to be connected to the turbo inlet as source of clean air) and the plenum (as source of vacuum - which is the place for the air to flow to to cause the idle to increase). So 3 to 1 is VERY WRONG. 3 should go to either the turbo inlet, or the plenum. Follow the other hose from the PS solenoid and if it goes to the plenum, then your 3 goes to 2 2 would also serve as a bleed port for a boost solenoid.
    • Pull them out and pull more apart. You can't do shit with them still bolted to the floor of the car.
    • Yes it is. ZD1 is on the other side of the board. Where ZD1 is marked is clearly opposite a 2 pin device. Our 3 pin device here is not a ZD.
    • Alright, a little update on this... I called Fulcrum, who used to be the distributor in Australia. No Bueno, they don't service them anymore.  Called shock works, who don't service them but offered to dyno the shocks for performance, and suggested DNA in Sydney might service them.  Called DNA, who also do not service them and basically said they try to steer customers away from tein for this exact reason these days- there is just no support for them anymore apparently.  Both SW and DNA said they are a not necessarily a bad product, but they just don't service the brand or know anyone who does service the brand anymore.  So... I could keep calling around but at this point I think I'll probably just spring for the shockworks product, unless anyone here knows anything.  Cheers 🍻
    • That's not a transistor --- it's marked ZD1 which makes it a zener diode. As to what the breakdown voltage is, not enough there to divine.
