chris

sorry chris i put in the wrong dimensions lol :D it's the HKS TYPE S KIT :D

neo the hks and trust units for the r33 rb25det both use the the orginal supply and return holes :D i am pretty sure on that but brent will get back to me on details on the trust ones soon :)

adrian :D

adrian,

Im interested....that price is bloody cheap for a cooler kit. Let me know the specs and the prices for a 32 GTR cooler. I have the money now its just that i'd have to sell my existing cooler.

How much would a stock gtr cooler go for?

How much is freight for the cooler kit?

Get back to me and I will let you know.

okay guys ummmm sorry to say this gtr owners but you'll have to be counted out of this :( at the moment i can only get 32 gts-t and 33gts-t intercooler kits :( sorry again

now to the gts-t owners the pricing for both r32 and 33 is the same soo this is what nengun has to offer

HKS TYPE S Intercooler Kit:- 600 X 301 X 65 103,000 yen delivered

TRUST V-SPL Intercooler Kit:- 600 X 244 X 76 98,400 yen delivered

now the trust kit is exactly the same as Rob77's R-SPL kit the only difference is the inner core design :) hence the name v-spl and r-spl, trust has a v-spec core and a r-spec core :)

the prices that he gave me were if I (AND I STRESS THIS) only i were to order one single kit then those prices above would apply to me, nengun has said that the more intercooler kits i order the cheaper the prices will become for everyone!

so lets work this out 98,400 yen delivered in $AUS= 1,310.00 delievered to my door :) and thats just if i ordered, if i get more to order with me who knows how low the price will go :)

and for those interested in the hks kit 103,000 yen in $aus = 1,370.00 delievered again that is for one single order :)

both kits come as per usual with piping, silicon tubing and all the neccessary bits and pieces for straight bolt on installation :)

so guys tell me who wants one i want to get the ball rolling by tuesday at the latest :)

adrian :P

Guys,

Bear in mind that Customs are paying pretty close attention to "gifts" that are coming in these days. I can't even get legitimate trade samples in these days without paying duty and GST. If these cooler kits get caught you'll be up for 15% duty and 10% GST and you'll need a formal customs declaration which is ~100 bucks. Something to bear in mind.

Hybrids have been as good as any and are very cheap.

Aaahhh yes Steve , probably true but brand name is everything.

People would rather say they bought from Myers , not Target cos it sounds guccier even though the article does the same job.

Also fellows be aware that Jash is correct and we are not the only people that read these forums.

Is there a site for the Hybrid coolers - ie. what sizes etc are available and at what cost. Also, do the Hybrid coolers come as kits or do they require a workshop to make the piping up?

I suppose the beauty of some of these 'branded' kits is that they (supposedly) come with all the bits and pieces for those who are DIY'ers to plumb them up at home saving some bucks on workshop labour.

Anyway, get back to us on the Hybrid information and kit prices.

Cheers

Brendan

I think I quoted you 1800ish installed. Worst case scenario for you is the cooler kits from Japan get caught by customs and you end up paying an extra 400 bucks then you've either got to fit it yourself or pay someone to do it. Could end up costing you well over 2k. As they say in the classics "If you dont support local businesses then they cant support you".

Jash

noo no jash i said around $2000ish meaning the highest i got quoted :( hmmmmmmmmmmmmz you guys are giving me second thoughts on this, maybe i should double check with nengung on the customs thingo, never thought of that.

thanx all those that pointed out the stoopid customs thingo :(

adrian :P

adam32: yer the current cooler is still fine, but I thought if these are really cheap it may save me money in the long run. Thanks for the info anyways :(

Seeing as this has kinda fallen through, will other people be interested in a group buy for upgraded GTR coolers, weather it be Jap kits from nengun or taka...or coolers locally?

Just a thought thats all. :P

Most 'grey market' purchases fall through the customs net due to the fact that the invoice stuck to the outside of the parcell/shipment declares a low (far lower than actually paid ) purchase price. The actual price paid in the country of origin is impossible for our customs guys to get hold of .There is absolutely no recourse of action if it's done right and that is a problem for local industries of all kinds including the one I work in.

The only way for local business to compete on this sort of price level is to have a dedicated 'wholesaler' (ie: not attached to a retail outlet) who can then apply pressure to negotiate price parity issues.

I think that motor parts retailers probably need more government assistance to help educate them in this sort of business activity as most people running the show don't have a business background (usually a 'hoon' background --- a good thing too).

It's good to support the local guys as best we can but, at the end of the day no one is running a charity. I for one would like to see the local guys have the abillity to 'match' the overseas suppliers. They can only do it if they have the support of government and parts distributors.

Adrian - regardless of whats been said by the local shop reps - $1,300 is a cheap price for a trust kit (assuming they are a full kit with everything and you just bolt it on) and is a hell of alot cheaper than any kits I've seen so far. I'm interested.

I'm also interested in any local producer who can match the product and the price. I'm quite happy to support a local producer - but to take some of rev's words - I ain't running a charity here - and I've already had a fair amount of profit made off me locally so far.

So consider the gaunlet thrown down to local producers. :(

Will report back with my findings.

Yeah i agree with the hybrid Adrian...

At the end of the day what do u want out of it? Do u think the HKS cooler is going to give u more benefits than the hybrid?.nooo

I d be listening to the guys who do the installs i have a hybrid and nooooo probs what so ever get off the brand names homes your 2K cooler wont get you a quicker time than mine :D

there good for over 500hp and .2 psi drop at 15psi what more could you ask for

mac :)

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
