they will follow it up though...

a guy ran into the back of me. i gave his details to the cops... my insurance paid for my car to be fixed then sued him for the amount.

2 years later i got summons to go to court... didnt kno wtf it was about cause i've had to go to court a bit to be a witness for customers using stolen credit cards so i thought it was just that...

surprised me to see the dood who smashed my car there. the cops were charging him for driving without a license n failing to report an accident.

the wheels of justice grind slow :)

Submit a written accident report at the cannington cop shop (a legal requirement on both parties because damage exceeds $1K) and include all the details you have.

Once it is in writing the cops have to follow through on the report. Where it could get tricky is if the car park where the accident took place is deemed by the coppers as being private property or not (most likely not as it was accesible by the general public i take it?). If it's deemed as public then they'll do him for leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident and provide you with written advice of the driver at the time of the offence and their contact details.

It's happened to me and i can only give praise to the police for their help in helping me sting the little pr$ck who did a hit and run on my last car.

good luck

car was parked in the parkin zone on albany high was across from my work same place i park every day just near tko tint...

so its a public space..

the cops told me to just use my insurance and sort it that way but the problem is my excess been so high i don't want to claim even though its not my fault have to get quotes done on saturday try and get it all done to give to the cops there was plenty of room for him to get out but him been a 4wd and my car been a bit lowered he probally didn't seee it,

it's just wrong wen people just drive off if i hit some thing i'll leave a note or find the owner its the right thing to do i thought

and one got a good place that can quote me around the kelmscott to vic park area

you'll probably find that Just Cars will make you pay the excess until the third party admits liability, then they will refund it to you. You will also need to get alot more details than just a rego, they will want a name and adress if they are going to be able to claim off him.

You wont need to pay excess Just cars are really good and they treat you allright unless they cant get the money back thats the only time you will have to pay but you have the car so they will make someone pay even if its the owner

what if it wasnt the guy in the 4wd? what if someone had parked there after the 4wd? do u have any other proof apart from suspicion? Unless the 4wd owner admits liability, i doubt just cars will relieve you of the excess, but no harm in trying i guess. The excess is in place for an At Fault claim or a Penalty claim (where the person responsible isnt identified).

Definately fill out a cop report..

I had the same thing happen to my old rex, someone backed into it, then did a runner, luckily someone who sort of knew me, saw it happen, grabbed his rego and gave it to me..

Went to the cop shop that night, filled out the report, and finally a month and a bit later i had the guys details, so i went around there and confronted him, he tried to deny it all, until i pointed out i had witnesses to it all and he'd best be in touch with his insurance to sort it out..

Anyway he kept trying to dodge it, until by chance he happened to be talking to his panel beater, which happened to be my panel beater, who reminded him he was so pissed that night he drove into his own wall so he'd better sort my car out..

chase it up witht he cops..

4wd'ers are f**kers!..should ban those crappy fkn things.

Now, now. Let's not get in nasty generalisations or I'll have to start believing all the stuff about import and skyline owners.

You will allways get tossers they arn't restricted to 4WDs.

I drive a GTR and a jacked up, big wheeled Nissan Patrol (among others) and there have been plenty of times I would have quite happily dropped into low range and driven over dicks and dicklesses in their little buzz boxes in response to bad behaviour/poor driving. :ninja:

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
