Hi All

Im after some advice on where to go from here with my setup. My engine is bog stock and im now finished my suspension and breaking upgrades. The car handles like a dream at the moment.

I have R34 GTR turbos on there, the stock exhaust front pipe, I believe a 3" cat back however I havent actually measured it. The car is quite laggy at the moment and I typically hit 1 bar in 2nd at about 4,500 RPM.

Would a larger exhaust off the turbos reduce lag? I would assume they would, however its possible that the stock dumps are the same size as the entry and exit ports of the turbo, therefore making the exhaust larger would do very little?

Would it be worth going to something prefabs from HKS etc or would I be okay with a 3" mandrel bent system made up at any decent exhaust shop?

Also found these on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...p;rd=1&rd=1

Would they be worth getting? What sort of dump-back exhaust would I need? Would I be able to use my existing cat-back system?

Exhaust aside, I would like to see 400 odd BHP from the car. Can it be done with the stock 34 turbs? I somehow doubt it personally, so what would my best option be for turbos? I have had a look at the slide turbos and they seem like a good option, but he is out of stock. Also, how hard are the new turbos to install, I heard slide turbos require some oil lines to be drilled? Im after bolt-on options if possible.

I would also be looking at a PFC and injectors + fule pump.

My budget is 3000 dollars. Is this achieveable if I do the majority of the labour at home? Will I need a EBC and if so whats the best one to go with the PFC?

Sorry if this posts a bit rantish.

Thanks

Ian

i dont think stocker twins should be that laggy ?

check out some of the rb26 dyno sheets and see how laggy they are compared to yours. but if you want to make more power, then youll need larger turbo's + tune which is usually just going to add more lag (usually, not always).

Get a tune, exhaust and some cam gears and you'll have what your after dude.

That will bring it all on sooner, more power etc which is what you are after. You might need 12-13psi and you'll be away :D

Exhaust will make a big difference, and the tune another one.

So $1000 exhaust, $1000 PowerFC, $250 for cam gear and the rest will be eaten up by the tune/fitting and have you on 3k almost perfectly

are you aiming for 400bhp at the wheels, or at the flywheel?

My HKS GT2530's are at 1.1 bar of boost at 4400-4500 rpm (that was on the dyno in 4th), I have a Trust split dump/front pipes, and a 3.5" cat back system, and cam gears.

I'll get round to updating the RB26 dyno thread soon (gotta get my scanner working)

im currently running 0.9 BAR, tho it spikes to 1 bar sometimes. I would be aiming for 400 hp at the wheels (bhp, or break horsepower). I would assume it wouldnt be too far off 400 hp at the fly already.

Do I need that front pipe I posted about or would I be okay buying the dumps then geting a 3" mandrel bent system cooked up?
