I was recently out at Mallala and I came out of turn 2 and then everything went to crap. Turns out I broke one of the lower control arm mounts on the rear subframe :) Dunno how it happenened, I didn't clip the ripple strip or hit anything?

Anyway, the car is an R32 GTS-t, and I was just wondering what other subframes I can get so that everything will bolt up. I currently have access to an S14 subframe, but I heard the R32 diff doesn't bolt up to them properly. Also have access to another R32 subframe (for free), but it has "a small stress mark" on it. I havn't looked at it yet, but would any sort of mark on the subframe be something to avoid?

Cheers

Ah, too late, just got the another R32 subframe. Just the subframe itself, no arms arms, hubs or anything.

Full-Race Geoff, can I ask what is better about the S14 subframe? I wanted to find a hicas subframe though cos I'm cheap and didn't want to buy toe arms :( Already have hicas locked, so it's not a problem

Yeah, that's what I did, added more weld on the inside of it. Shouldn't break off now :domokun:

I actually split the bracket in half though, so reattaching wouldn't be the best. Are they fine to just reweld back on if they come off cleanly?

    • Might be worthwhile hitting up Facebook's groups, I know most of them contain terrible people and scammers - however you might be able to find someone that's in Sydney with factory suspension you could purchase and/or hire. Just do not send any form of money anywhere, in person cash only.
    • Thanks @Duncan Ride height is fine. I think it's almost stock tbh. Happy to share a pic. I don't actually have a regular mechanic as haven't lived in Sydney too long. Could you or anyone recommend any shops in Sydney?
    • You just need a different blue slip shop (preferably one you regularly use as a mechanic), and make sure the coil overs are as close as possible to standard height
    • yeah the sugar refining companies were pushing for the same in Oz originally, all fuels were going to have 10% ethanol to make them "cheaper" (noting, that the loss in l/100 might be greater than the decrease in price). I guess they won that fight in Canadia
    • GTSboy, thank you again. i’ve been reading all the other SAU RB25 vacuum line threads and you have the utmost patience for people asking “where do my vacuum lines go”. it’s appreciated. i did also enlist a few other RB guys local to me.  i would like to run 5 to 4. turbo pressure side to wastegate actuator. i would like to run 3 to 1. power steering air valve line to intercooler outlet. (this is how it was previously). i was told 2 is the bleed port for the boost solenoid - which i’m not running - so should be capped.   anyone see any problems with that?
