Dont mind nights, but it takes a while to get used to it. Interest...you bet

If the price is right....

CF 32 wing from Custom Carbon...mmmm depends on what you mean by "right". I'm sure it will be cheaper than the Electra but off similar quality...I hope *waits for Noy to bring the joy*

i would be interested in a stock 32 GTR wing in CF. as I love the stock look of my car, but the standard wing is damn heavy.

justin, I have the rear edge of my bonnet spaced up for heat extraction. to be honest I have NFI if it works or not as I've always had it that way. I can say that I've never had engine (either coolant or oil) temp issues so I leave it as it is. the only downside is people always asking me if my bonnet is closed...

i don't mind the shift sports bonnet, and I personally don't like the front bonnet lip. looks very tacked on imo and doesn't really fit the look of the car for me. but each to their own!

Okay guys talked to Custom Carbon today and if the interest is there Stock look wings in Carbon could be done

good news is if we could get say half a dozen people interested he would be keen, only catch

this may mean interested enough to put down deposits the whole bit not just yea im keen then fall off at the last minute.

Price looks to be about $1500ish will confirm price once he has had time to have a good long look at wing and how they can mould what is a fairly complex shape.

Reason for the deposit As they dont have a mould and would have to make one up at approx. $3500 cost to them so they need rock solid commitment from us if this is to happen.

So the details are not set in stone yet but not far off so if u really r keen post up I will read the group buy rules thing and see how we r meant to go about this and will link in the group buy if this gets off the ground

So is anyone else keen?

Edited by noone
electra is dry carbon, and custom carbon is wet (as far as i know).

will look different i think

we do not use pre-preg all carbon we use is DRY... just to verify

The Shift Sports bonnet is nice, the weave is amazingly tight up close and the bonnet is so thin you can see the sun through it literally!

um if you can see through it then its only 1 layer of carbon with fibreglass used as the rest of the laminate..

So i've been away for a week enjoying my birthday up at coolum... went skydiving etc etc AWESOME..

Now its time to get back to business, i see someone rang jason and sorted the 32 GTR OEM wing out..I spoke with him earlier tonight and he confirmed the $3500 moulding costs.. so i guess the more people getting one of these the cheaper it will be.. once the mould is paid for in full work will start immediately on the mould and then the first part..

I wondered when you would poke your head in Noy. :D

Noone: Do you have an exact number of wings we need to confirm prior to CC comencing work on the mould and therefore the final cost per unit and thanks for the leg work on this buy.

...i've got carbon fever :D

As posted I was told half dozen though as Noy posted more would be better thought there would b at least half dozen interested though has not happened yet if looks no better later today might have to make a new post as I think maybe people are not reading the first two pages to get to here???

Have had 1 other maybe interested via pm maybe pm anyone you think may be interested, might have to ring Jason today so will pose the question again about numbers even with 3 definites pretty sure others will be interested if this goes ahead more would obviously be better

Sorry lads been away for a few days.

The Chairman is in pending final $$... so is the cost of each final part $1500 (inc GST?), or are we just paying for the mould then more for the part??

Oh YEAH DUFFMAN

PS Sorry Noy - my post edited for Dry carbon

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
