No worries

To the original thread poster... may I ask why u didnt get the car towed? Surely u'd have known leaving a car like that on a road means bad news?

leaving an import on the road to springbrook is suicide

what the people take so we can keep an eye on classifieds?

no, wouldn't have done shit

would someone have come to stop them? would they have run away? would anyone care?

i have better deterrant devices avaliable to me now =)

man, if i was watching tv and i heard my car alarm going off outside i'd be going to have a look

car thieves aren't going to hang around a car in a suburb street for long with an alarm blaring

id never ever leave my car on the side of the road unattended for long peroids of time. If she breaks down on the highway, im sleeping in the back for the night.

+1 that and ill call my mates to come for a sleep-over lol..

so can we have a list of things stolen so we can all keep an eye out.?

racq membership is good for something! (i also make them change my tyres)

lol.. thats crazy.. hehe

but dosn't it suck waiting 1/2 hour+ just to change a tire?!

have you actually done this? cause i would have loved to have seen the racq dudes face lol

I take it you are quite capable of doin it yourself?

lol if you get ultra care you can tow what ever you want for nuffing, lol i get them to tow at least 2 cars a month...... and then trye changes are good cos the do it like in 10 mins just gotta wait 1hr for them to get there lol

This didn't happen to be a dark blue R33?

Think I saw it Saturday morning on the way to Murwillumbah.. all smashed up.. and thought "ouch"

yep thats the one mate......wish ida had it insured or sumthin im so dissapointed police arnt doing anything

Well if the -poor guy would give details of what they took we may at least be able to keep an eye out for cheap said items.

DARK BLUE sparco steering wheel, gear knob hand brake, blitz sbc i color, drift exhuast tip,(left the rest of the exhuast on), hks ssqv, air induction pipe / pod , intercooler n piping, few other bits and pieces but they completly destroyed everything they touched......its gonn cost a hell of a lot to fix.....if its even fixable at all

no insurance and u left it on road all night. were u high?

lol again.. hehe.. i dont want to be mean, but, this shit has been happending around the world for along time, and here in oz, i feel very bad for what happened, but, if you have something nice that others want in this day and age you need to keep it safe. why do we think that most houses/business's have huge alarm systems and malls have secruity, if the option is there, some people will do anything and live in the now to steal it.. just like leaving money sitting on the ground.. loox like we learn from our lessions though!!...:)

i get my girlfriend to park behind me so she parks me in every night, as i dont trust ppl, and this is in my own drive way!

poor skyline!!!..damn!

AFIAK there is only a police force on the Goldcoast in name only.. They're extremely under-manned, and absolutely useless for anything other than a few defects now and then. As for solving real crime, forget about it.

So here especially you have to be vigilant with all security.

    • Hello Liam - HA - somewhere in flies - possibly I have an update, but I have been so busy, projects have taken a back seat to getting business back on track.  I will let you know the outcome, but I think I am going to go for the 8HP,  CHEERS.  ELVIS
    • Thanks Joshuaho96, yes - as someone else also suggested, the 8HP seems the 'smart choice' - HA - and ZERO to do with cost, but I am sure 8 speeds will be better than 6 speeds - HA - maybe.  I will purchase a new 8HP,  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Nobody said anything about getting a "...cheap Falcon box..."- it was JUST a question about a specific transmission.  And YOU may have a problem with not enough $ - HA - I do NOT - so please keep your comments like you are some financial guru to yourself.  BUT - much appreciated re the cost of a new 8HP and I twill probably be the way I go.  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
    • There is an ABS pump and a few solenoids. You could trigger the front/rear solenoids with a pressure bleeder attached with a Consult 2.
