Any ideas, whilst I madly read through the tutorial/manual by paulr33 here

Please move this thread guys if not suitable here. :(

howdy, thought this was as good a place as any to post this. In the scramble for a power fc, i have inetvetly ended up with two pfc's with h/c one brand new in the box frm japan, and one second hand i agreed to buy a little while ago, they are both for ECR33 Gtst so if anyone wants to show eoi nows the time as i have no need for two but do have an interested party. I'm leaning towards selling the second hand pfc, pm me if you want

so with all this talk about power fc's etc Just what is the definitive answer to engine management computers.

Everyone you speak to has a different answer and quote both personal and anecdotal evidence as to why their puda is the best.

This headlong dash for power fc has me shaking my head. Why would you want a product from a maker no longer in existence. As these things get older and and harder to find the tuners will be working more and more with other brands and parts and service will be difficult to source at best.

What are all the desirable features in a puda. Obviously you need fuel/air, spark/timing, Knock sensor etc. But what seperates one from the other. If you could have the puda to do it all. What would it do that most already cant and, what computer if any already fits the bill.

Dude, I am havin the same dilemma myself. been hunting for A PFC for so long, and when ya find someone who has one, they want like $1800+. I have almost decided to go with a Microtec LT12s, ECU+controller+harness, $1850, and i'm sure it would be a damn fine system with plenty of support.

I got a PFC + controller recently for less then 900 bucks, and I could of gotten more. For 32 GTR. I dont know what the fuss is about them being so pricey...

Yep, I noticed that Ian, when looking around there were plenty for Gtr's but not for R34 GTT. I'd say someone will buy the design and reproduce them again.

Taken from Nengun's web site.

We have heard preliminary reports of Apexera, the parent company of Apexi, declaring bankruptcy here in Japan. The reports suggest Apexera is seeking government assistance but still operating as normal, with the divisions other than Apexi being the largest contributing factor.

We will continue to offer all Apexi products for sale as we have confirmation of availability at the current stage and do not expect this to change in the short term. As with all of our products, we will keep the website updated with any changes in availability, so there is no need to send additional enquiries.

Please note Apexi products are on back order and can take up to 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. For faster service, if possible please choose another brand when purchasing parts.

08/03/2007 We have been informed that Apexi from the end of March/ April business will be continuing as usual with little or no delays.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
