Sam,

Accomodation is around about $30 a day and we are staying two nights...You will need to take the friday (11th) off work and maybe the monday up to you as driving back sunday

It's $75 to enter DECA not sure about Cam's licence might be somthing in Vic section

Will go see what I can find out for ya

In steveos first post its saying CAMS licence isnt needed im going to ring him and ask

thanx for that jess

yeah, definately get 2S. don't stress too much, you have plenty of time to get it, and even if it doesn't arrive in time they can fax you a temporary licence if you ask nicely.

Im about to send all pm's on behalf of steveo cause need final confirmation of who is in and payment so can secure our positions and accomodation

Im sure we can all help each other out as all travelling down together

Right now it is me in my car alone so I can probably find a bit of space.

Would be happy to give someone a lift as 7 hours in a car doesn't sound like much fun. Thats really streching the ipod to its limits.

yay, that would be tops tj and sam. It's just that I'll be driving down in my 32 GTR. now it only has 2 seats in it, but the bulk of the rear is taken up with roll cage. I'll have 2 people in it (me +1) so no room in the front at all, and the boot can only hold 1 wheel .

then I have race box (just some tool, fluids etc)

jack

2X stands

4 X wheels

helmet bag

clothes for me

clothes for + 1

so I reckon I can fit nearly all of that stuff except for 2 or 3 wheels and the jack. I can probably live without the jack and try using someones down there. So I would just need someone to carry 1 wheel (and maybe the jack) and someone to carry 2 wheels. and of course there will be my undying love in it for you, and a few bux as well. just don't sell my wheels for beer on the way down!

shouldn't be a problem mate i've got plenty of space and no-one else in the car.

I might have a passenger for you if ok, As we will be taking a little car and have 4 in with us and for 7 hours could get a bit cramped

oh, jess. I am in and paid as of last week. I've paid only for deca, accomodation is sorted for me (i think, will check that today).

Oh what  not crashing with us....

lol, it's not that you guys smell. just that I had already put my name in with someone before I knew exactly what you guys were doing. I'll let you know if anything changes.

i should have a fair bit of room in my car being half stripped. so i got space for other ppls stuff aswell as another person coz im driving down solo. should invest in some speakers, coz theyd be better than the ones ive got now.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
