hey guys i went down to the JEM dyno day on yesterday heres my dyno sheet:

mods:

slide hi flow turbos

full exhaust

hks evc III @ 1bar boost

mines ecu

k&n hi flow panel

everything else is stock, what mods should i be looking at next? im after a street car with 300rwkw.

ive already got in mind a power fc, 600cc injectors and a bosch 040. would that do it? anything esle i could do to make it pick up quicker as its pretty laggy to me?

whats everyones recommendation? and how does the dyno look cuz all i know is its a tad laggy and i want abit more power .

how well is it tuned? being a mines ecu will suck the wang, you should get a programmable controller.

there is more top end to be had there as the afrs plummet to 10's thanks to the mines engineers.

if you had a stand alone or controllable ecu you could tweak that to hover near 12 afr and get some more power.

twin garrett 2560's which are the hks 2530 equiv, you can see it wakes up at 120kmh which is 4200rpm

yours doesnt seem to wake up until 5000rpm

you can see it ramps up quickly and has good midrange from 100km/h which is 3500rpm

your does seem laggy. what are the specs of the hiflow units ?

Your need management/injectors/cam gear before you can say that its a laggy setup.

Those 3 things and more boost... then that would be a good comparo.

For what you have there, its about right considering your missing key parts

i guess that would explain the lag?

seriously, get your mind off the lag. Its a null point at this stage ;)

You dont have:

ECU

Cam Gears

Two key parts. I wouldnt bother looking much into it until you have these parts installed and the car tuned

Exactly right.

2530's cam gears and a power FC.

The engine is built etc but at the time had stock cams.

I tunned it and it not very laggy at all considering the boost and how low it is (13psi)

The thing pulled like a train as you could tell by the flat power curve.

Thats an old set-up but similar to how yours could be with the right mods.

Got yourself a Power FC, cam gears and go from there.

BTW that graph belongs to the other GTR that was at the JEM day. Its mine.

GTRgeoff is making 316rwkw on his R33 GTR at 1 bar that SelectMaz (Wayne) tuned with the same set of our highflowed turbo's.

That should be a good indication on the power you are missing out on by not having a tunable ecu like a Power FC.

Fitted turbos over the last couple of days. The usual stuff like wrestling with Nissans fine piping engineering (and it sux, my design is better on the RB25DETT/26-30TT). I'll replace it all in a year or so.

A visible difference in the size of the compressors and turbines.

Didn't have time to sort out the boost control so on stock GTR33 high boost setup of just under 1bar she pulled 316rwkw with sard 700cc injectors and PFC on a 31 degree day. Pulls like a 13yo with a porno mag. The tuners at SelectMaz, Wayne and Drew were quite happy with the result, Drew getting quite carried away with the amount of torque on road and Wayne blown away by the tractive effort on the dyno.

I'm happy as well and looking forward to getting the rest of the potential out of them when I don't have another engine to build and tune before moving to Brisbane next Friday.

The turbine is the Garrett T28 cropped race shaft with -5, -7, -9 compressor wheel.

I would have to search through the books to see which comp wheels were put in yours as we didnt have regular stock then if i remember correctly.

There is not too much difference between them.

LOL, whats with dyno sheets that start at like 4500rpm. Doesn't anyone care whats happening below that? I drive under 4500rpm quite frequently.

ECU and tune will make a big diff! I just got full boost about 1000rpm low by adding an ECU and tune... different engine... but still..

The fact that you are running a k&n panel filter (I guess in an otherwise stock box?), would be restricting the top end a bit. I suspect if you got pod-filter and cold air induction, there would be a fair bit of power gain there, and the power wouldn't start flattening out as soon.

the GTR airbox is actually quite decent.

Having seen many a car rattle off over 350rwkw with the airbox, leads me to believe it cant be all bad

Nothing wrong with the GTR air box besides the fact its a pain to work with. Ive also seen a few GTRs making 350 with it still fitted. power is not flattening off because of a restriction its flattening cause of the sheer ammount of fuel its swallowing!

GTR injectors will be fine for 300kw like his planning to run as will the MAF's

    • Actually everyone on the roads was really well behaved. The only person that did any minor tailgating was a local hoon in a Turbo Focus. Unfortunately we weren't going the same way so there was no grand initial D touge battle. Lots of people pulled over and let me through. The amount of "Hey man nice car, omg skyline, nice 34 man woo" was suprising. Like really suprising. Like almost annoying. My partner was obviously surprised, she'd never seen anyone in the real world point out the car/like the car/want to chat about the car before, so to have like 3 people per day mention it was notable, I could finally say SEE? SOMEONE THINKS THEY'RE COOL. Everyone was also pretty suprised about the weather. Every day was dry and about ~13-14C. Mount Wellington had a sign that said they close the gates at 9pm and I was heading up there at about ~7:30. It was VERY apparent that conditions were getting significantly worse by the minute on the way up and down. The road on the mountain was terrible though, it's no driving road. I have various suspension related questions now. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes from where we were staying to the top of the mountain as said Google maps. We only had the 2 nights in Hobart. We went to the Farm Gate Market though which was really good - And went down to the Hastings Thermal springs/caves down there during the day. I'd definitely be up for going back again, so luckily there's a few more sights yet to see. Didn't get to do the west coast/queenstown/cradle mountain so this was supposed to be a 'scouting' trip anyway of sorts if I were to one day do/take part in/organize a more car-focused trip. As for the boat, it wasn't bad. Well it was bad, but not in the way you're thinking. We did the night trip which leaves at 6:45 (though you have to be there ~2 hours earlier) and arrives the next morning at about 6am. There is nothing to do on the ship. If you plan accordingly and bring a book/tablet/show to watch/charger you can just chill out, take some Travacalm and just sleep through it. The food there is an extremely basic buffet that costs $32 a plate, or $14 for a $3 pizza. The way back we had a travel kettle and a few different types of cup noodles and made our own tea/coffee in the room. This was a far superior way to do it. At the very least book one of the rooms with beds. I guess as we were in the off season we didn't have room mates. You get an option for rooms with 4 beds (2x bunks) or a room with just the two bottom beds. There's also some option for a deluxe queen bed but it's much pricer. We've been on sleeper trains in Asia before so we figured this is similar (and it was)
    • You just gotta be really, really, really clear and decisive with what you want your end product to be. 99% of people who want this conversion aren't "I want to run a 295 front tyre!" so they don't really need the widebody. They just want the OEM body to look a little less dumpy, so bonnet, bar, skirts job done with some camber, stretch, slam. It's when you want that, but then decide to pivot later you get big problems. See also if you're willing to get an all in one fibreglass bar, and you're willing to accept fibreglass problems like cracking the entire item on a driveway, instead of just a piece attached to the bottom, etc etc etc. Decide this all before buyin'.
    • After @Kinkstaah debacle, I'd never want to try and get it right 😛
    • The hood lines up with the fenders. The front bar doesn't perfectly line up with the fenders where the wheel arch is. You have to 'squeeze' the front bar 'in' as it wants to naturally flare out and be longer on the sides. There's a few threads where people notice this when they only swap a GTR style bumper and front bar. Unless you have genuine OEM items - you may be better served getting conversion kits. There are GTT bumpers to fit GTR hoods. There are GTR hoods (non genuine) to fit the GTT bracketry. MAY
