Young Gun
Its funny how much opinions differ. Im chasing the 300rwkw mark and when i talked to the guys at advan they said on stock internals no more than 270rwkw and the guys at croydon said i could run 300rwkw on stock internals all day long. R31Nismoid
get in a car with a genuine 220rwkw, or a car with 250rwkw I had 270rwkw for ages and i reckon thats more than enough for the street 250rwkw is a better aim, and keeps things (cost wise) within reason. evil_weevil
forum geeks?? me?? hahaha Sorry mate, but I have under 200rwkw and I'll run rings around you! (Andru) Seriously though man, ok, to hit over 260? a GT3540 and a Z32 AFM or the nissan V8 AFM? But still, Id be looking at internals to keep that engine alive for longer period of time. And even then, you can still make 280 plus rwkw Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/162228-300rwkw/page/2/#findComment-3016816 Share on other sites

And even then, you can still make 280 plus rwkw 3540 is way to big for the rb25 to make 300rwkw hell my HKS 3040 is a tad too big for what i get and be nice and streetable. evil_weevil
oops my mistake so what would you say to use then? (ECR033 - Brendan makes around 280 rwkw on this combination and ran a high 11) What if you decided to use the RB30 bottom head? Obviously thats out of the question here but "theoretically" (sp?) I think "MILF" the VL turbo has that combination and makes similar power Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/162228-300rwkw/page/2/#findComment-3016840 Share on other sites
Downforce
GT35/40 FTW.. you'll make well over 300rwkw with reasonable boost, that answers the "what's needed" question. But as everyone has stated, don't bother chasing that power and beyond unless you're willing to spend $$$$ to build the engine with forged internals + all the supporting fuel, cooling, breathing mods. Craved
i would use a HKS GT2835 Pro S for a rb25 to make that - or the garret gt30 series. 3L is different again 3540 on the 3L push up at 370kw so too much room in there Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/162228-300rwkw/page/2/#findComment-3016866 Share on other sites

Beer Baron
i just want to know how you make 220rwkw with a standard turbo on just 12psi? tell me your secret please. aDrew_C
GT3076 should do it fine, anything smaller and you aren't really gauranteed anything over 260rwkw. Might be reliable for years, might not. That's the chance you take. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/162228-300rwkw/page/2/#findComment-3016945 Share on other sites
R34NRG
im not to fused bout turbo size i know what im after, its just all the screwing around for everything to keep up with the turbo. its a hard job but im gonna give it a go. how long will the car last with stock internals with 300rwkw. if possible id rather slap the turbo on now with the fuel pump and injectors, and when i get enough money put in the pistons, rods, ect will it do alot of dmg or anything if im running 300kws with stock internals Edited March 29, 2007 by anDru Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/162228-300rwkw/page/2/#findComment-3017027 Share on other sites

R34NRG
i always thouught of maybe buying a whole new engine and doing a engine swap, makes sense and might actually be cheaper, but like i said, i hate that whole engine surgery crap Edited March 29, 2007 by anDru Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/162228-300rwkw/page/2/#findComment-3017043 Share on other sites
Forged
lol mate my car atm is 220rwkws......i know all u forum geeks think im some noob but take it easi lol....i dont even think highflowing my turbo would even get anymore then 260rwkws, any suggestions on at least hitting 280? without all that engine sugeryy lets see, if your aim is around 280rwkw then GT3040 with cams would do the trick. anything bigger will be laggy. and obviously other auxiliary components such as afm, fmic & etc will be needed. as for injectors, 600cc would be sufficient for what you want to achieve. R31Nismoid
Dont forget the EPA, that should be a key issue when planning such mods Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/162228-300rwkw/page/2/#findComment-3017120 Share on other sites
Forged
really? thats not a bad option then, i just hope wat u say is true, i think i would defiently need pistons though A mate has an r33 with this setup (r34 would get similar result) almost 290rwkw if i remember correctly. Cams are the important factor here much better mid range power, more driveable. Regarding longevity, if you track the car with 280rwkw the stock engine will let go sooner than later, if you mainly using it on the street then it should be fine as long as you treat it with care.
