can anyone tell me or pm me prices of what a series 2 stagea 99ish with maybe 70000k? with leather with all options... (usually the leather ones have all the options) sells for at auction?

something the site i signed up for doesnt tell me. i can bid on cars but i dont find out what they sell for :P

How long is a piece of string? It all depends on the km's / condition / demand on that day.

I can give you one tip though.

DO NOT post any pics or details about any car on here that you are going to bid on until you have won it. The importers and agents all keep any eye on these forums and if you post up anything about a car you have found and really like, when it goes to auction the price will shoot up because there will be a few extra people bidding on it purely because they know there is a buyer for it.

Yeah i figured that.

and a bit of searching done and i actually can select which ones i like and it will tell me if it sells and what it sells for :P

good way to find out how much my leather is really worth

and yer i aint that silly  i am an internet auction king

^that was NOT called for :P

and yer i aint that silly

No offense dude, I didn't mean to infer that you were.

Its just this has happened on here (and not that long ago too) and I wasn't sure if anyone had realised that people have been burnt like that.

I know I sure wasn't until a little bird whispered in my ear.

yeah its understandable! and i know you didnt mean to offend!

but all good i know what i am lookin for now and everything.

then comes the next hard part the import approval import shit.

but first i must stop dreaming for a bit and sell this gearbox!!

Looking on the Yahoo auctions I've seem a few complete leather interiors up for sale. Would definatley be a container job to get it here but the prices seem reasonable. Long way down my list atm though

yeah someone on here did the leatherette seat cover thing, do a search... they looked good. Some people had problems with installing them on thier skylines, only because they rushed into it and had no patience :)

For me, leather looks good, but with the heat we have here in Perth, it would be so uncomfy... and the heated seats option, absolutely useless here, unless you're living amongst snow :)

D'ya know why, when a man see's a woman dressed in leather, his heart rate increases, he gets endorphins going and may even break out in a sweat??

because she smells like a sports car :)

The model that you are looking for is the prime edition, if you want all the bells & whistles. The silver, white colours definately sell for less. I have seen them go for as little as A$6000, for a 2000 model with 70,000, but you have to be lucky or maybe careful! I paid $13,000 for mine, ($25,000 landed complied and everything paid inc insurance), but it has a full body kit, 18" alloys, and is Bayside Blue, original 78,000km's. Just be careful of respray's. I am happy to run any numbers through FAST for you.

This is the last prices published for a Prime edition

Date year cc Shift km's Colour Model Model US$ grade

22.03.2007 2000 2500 FA 74 pearl WGNC34 25T RS-4V PRIME 6800 4

15.03.2007 2000 2500 FA 57 pearl WGNC34 RS-4 PRIME E 10400 3

01.03.2007 1999 2500 FA 35 pearl WGNC34 RS-4 PRIME E 10200 4

Because of their prices I am fairly certain that the last 2 are turbo's too. Of course the auction sheets would have told you more.

Oh and don't bother asking where I get the info, cos I won't tell!! But believe me it's true, I know I found mine too.

Ciao

John

PS I have found the leather great even on the hotest days it certainly isn't unbearable.

That was me ... and thanks.

Yeah if you have patience with putting them in they come out looking awesome ... everyone who gets into my car loves my "leather interior" and how comfortable it is. No one has picked up its not 100% leather yet, kinda shows how good a product they are.

Having said that ... l do throw my AXS seat cover on for daily driving, as not keen on coming outta the gym or from a ride & sitting all sweaty on my seats.

    • So.....wire it up appropriately. You can't use the resister pack with those injectors anyway.
    • that’s the thing i’m on ID1050s and haltech not getting power due to the injector resistor
    • ahh okay cheers, i was thinking of just going for the m073, think m079 would be way too overkill considering they are same size.
    • My first car was a HG. I'm very familiar with them. A mild cam upgrade is a good idea. The 186 is a very flexible engine - meaning it has good torque from down low. You can give up a little torque down low for quite a lot more excitement in the mid range, and a bit more up top - but they are not exactly a rev monster. You need to upgrade valve springs at the minimum. For a bigger cam, you'd want to make sure it wasn't still running the original fibre cam gear. That would be unlikely, given that most of them shat themselves in the 70s and 80s, but still within the realms of possibility. Metal cam gear required. Carbies are a huge issue. The classic upgrade was always a Holley 350, which works, but is usually pretty bad for fuel consumption. The 186S had a 2 barrel Stromberg on it that was very similar to the one on the 253, and is a reasonable thing if you can find one, and find someone to help you get it set up (which is the same issue with setting up a 350 to work nice). The more classic upgrade was twin sidedraught CD type carbs, or triples of same, or triple Webers. The XU-1 triple Webers being the best example. You can still buy all this stuff new, I think, but it's a lot of coin to drop. And then the people able to set them up are getting fewer and further in between. There's still some, but it used to be everyone's** dad and uncle could do it. **Not everyone's! But a lot. All in all, I wouldn't get too carried away with the engine. Anything you do to it without a full rebuild for power and revs will only make it slightly faster. I am all in favour of a complete teardown rebuild, with nice rods and pistons, 10 or 10.5:1 compression, and a clean port job with at least a big enough cam to run 98 with that compression, if not bigger. And if I did that to a dirty old red motor, I'd want to inject it too, which I'd struggle to fight against the devil on my shoulder that would argue for ITBs and trumpets. But the bills would start to mount up, and it will still never make stupid power. OK, a few people still know how to build absolutely mental red motors, courtesy of the work that went into HQ racing and modern knowledge being applied. But even a 300HP red motor is no match for an RB20 with a TD06. So you have to decide what it's worth to you. I'd just put a set of 6>2>1 extractors, a 2.5" exhaust and an electronic ignition conversion/dizzy on it and just run the old girl like the fairly slow old girl that she really is.
