Hey im going to japan on the 27th of may and i've found this site really good.

http://www.japan-guide.com/

My boyfriend and i are also taking around 1500 to 2000 each... i've found if you go to different travel agents and speak with them you can find some really cheap accom. Another big help is the lonely planet book and website as if has some tips on how to get around and have fun on a budget.

Hope that helps a bit. Have fun.

Im heading over in Jan 2008 for TAS im booking flights and accom now to get it out of the way.Im looking for a good Ryokan to stay at.Can anyone suggest top ones in Tokyo?

I dont want to stay too far out of the city and my budget is $150-180 a night.

Anyone else going over for TAS?????

Hi all,

I'm going to Osaka in November too with my girlfriend... our current expenses without even leaving Australia is as follows:

Tickets $1000 (for the pair - return)

Insurance $112 (for the pair from http://www.travelinsurancedirect.com.au)

Accomodation $450 (6 nights at a 3-Star hotel, booking made at http://japanhotel.net ) - cheapest hotel booking place

Other expenses that will be required:

* Travel to and from Kansai Airport $100 max for 2 people both journeys

* Subway / Bus Pass for the trip $200 or so for the pair

Budget for Shopping, Eating, Emergency...

$5k each should be enough considering we're not there for any major purchases (i.e. car parts, technology) - more for the cultural aspect of things.

If anyone stumbles upon cheapy deals / sites - post them up :)

hey dude.

If u havent booked your hotel already. Id reccommend staying at Hotel CHUO in osaka. THE BEST SPOT IMO..and only 25$ AUD pp/night. in a private room. Was awsome. Really clean and next to JR lines and subways..the best really and u can walk to namba.. We jus came back from 10day trip i took 1500AUD with me and including accomodation/food/spending i still have 450$AUD left...That i want to exchange with someone going to japan..So PM ME if u wanna change at the current rate...NO FEES... :P

Was wickid..You will LOVE it.!

Have fun..I wanna go back!

bb out

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow

    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
