Door bitches at the SNS - Sounds interesting :)

In all seriousness though its a good idea, and extra sets of hands to direct people particularly as they enter will be a big help.

Yep!!!

But whats wrong with the girls of SAU walking around doing the raffle and general interaction with spectators and entrants in a SAU shirt??

Im not saying guys cant but I would like to start off with Promo girls....

But any guy or girl that just wants to lend a hand please express your interest as need help with BBQ and selling drinks and other duties ;)

Jess

Crap removed from the thread. This is not a whore thread people. Jess is asking for volunteers for the Show and Shine to do some of the social type jobs.

She wants some girls so that they can all go around in a group together for moral support.

The idea of a promo girl you get from Autosalon and the like is out the window. Skanks who know nothing about cars and just come to pose are not welcome.

Mentioning the word "girl" around here seems to start a feeding frenzy not unlike a pack of pirahanas in a kiddie pool.

For any girls who might be reading this; these people are not like this in person so don't be scared. Jess will look after you.

well i'd ask the wifey but 2 problems, first my membership isnt posted yet and 2nd, she nows little about cars but she does have a great azz

ps. she does love cars though.

If she is happy to help that is good enough for me...We can teach her about cars

This show and shine is not Auto Salon so its not paid promo girls

I would like the SAU members, wife, sister, girlfriend, friends that are into cars and are on SAU basically....

I think it is fantastic if we can get women involved who are into cars and know about them. Most of our significant others aren't/don't and having them meet the few who are only helps. At the last dinner Jess was nice enough to spend time with my wife and I can tell you that scored a lot of points for me in the "ok, go have fun with the skyline crew" department. If you can get your GF/spouse/other involved they will have fun and it will be a much better experience for both of you.

My gf was heavily involved last time and she had a great time. Also Mel, Neils wife and Jodie, Majanal's wife were too. In fact without those three in particular we probably would have been stuffed. Not to mention Kel of course.

Hey Jess I already mentioned it to you but I am willing to help out any way I can. (I look great in a bikini as well..)

Hell, you never know, the car might be all fixed up by then and I can bring it along as well ;)

Thanks Steve will let you know

I look hot in a mini and a boob tube... hire me!!!!

:D not sure about attire but you can help out for sure

    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
    • Hi, i’m converted my r34 4dr auto to manual but need help with gearbox wiring. There are bunch of wires no idea which one for speedo drive, neutral, reverse can anyone help me. IMG_6860.mov
