tapping/ticking noise

When my engine is running it makes a ticking noise, ne1 know what this could be? Cuz i know it wasnt doing this when i bought it.

mine seems to do that too, i think the noise is coming from the radiator fan in mine, it hasnt really bothered me so i havent checked it out thouroughly, it certainly hasnt affeected performance nehow

The injectors will make a ticking noise, so don't panic if its that. Its hard to judge really, best to ask someone who does know and try to then judge for yourself.

so its not a problem eh ? i put sum injector cleaner in my fuel will that stop it ? or is it the wiring

I had an Rb30 88 model syline, sometimes it would make really loud ticking noises, it was the tappets on startup, but they would go silent again.

It used to tick as well while running, simple noiseinjection, comming thing with Skylines, ignore it, it ignores you

yes the tappets are annoying but i live with them cos they dissappera as the engine warms.

I cant actually drive it very far cuz of the clutch...

Yes it is that bad

But i will get back to you after the clutch is fixed.. Wont be too long. HOPEFULLY it will go in next week some time to get done.

i reckon its the fan on the radiator happens on mine does really bother me its a faint noise

1) injectors

2) lifters

3) exhaust leak on 1 cylinder ie exhaust manifold gasket leak

I thought its just the usual noise of the RB generation engines. I have had a N/A VL with the RB30 which was imaculate and It only had 50'000 ks and it made a faint ticking noise, I also had a VL turbo RB30et which did the same thing and so does my skyline only very faintly, I may be wrong but thats what I thought,
