got around to modyfying my snorkel so its still usable. required a bit of measurement and math but in a nutshell...

1)i just cut out the left hand side of the snorkel.

2)bent some titanium to match the width of the hole i cut out. (bent the ends in, then screwed it to the plastic)

3)then used a high temp silicone to glue it and 100% seal.

4)then painted..

Also doing this now, good job on the titanium..

Why did you choose titanium? over say normal sheet metal or something thinner..

How much for the titanium and where did you purchase it...

My plan was going to be to use pop rivets and seal it with silicon..

Cheers

That looks really good, would you be willing to make anymore to sell because i would buy one for sure

sorry nah i wont be making any extras. it seriously isnt that hard though.. just got to have some decent tools. time and an aviation engineer.( :D ) jk.

i used titanium simply becuase my stepdad works of aeroplanes and he got me some. no more than an a4 sheet size. maybe a little longer to ensure you cover the whole area you have cut out. however i have no idea where you can buy it, im sure just a bendable sheet of aliminium would do the trick.

Have you also got a cold air intake running from underneath the airbox..

i have a cold air intake from where one of the stock cooler pipe was, but had it there for the pod. i woundnt connect it up to the stock box because any induction underneath the box would bypass the filter.. but its still there..

post up ya pics if anyone has there snorkel done.

nice work mate, cheers for the pics. defintely looks the goods,

i am also running around with plastic held by duct tape, it works fine. also cut up the top half of the box so that the inlet is the whole side not just the back half, as i thought i would be losing out by removing half the snorkel. run a pipe straight to the underside of the snorkel from the stock intercooler pipe hole and thats your cai. with both happening i have no loss over a pod, perhaps its better lol. downside to those who care is no bov noise because it is damped heavily by the tape. meh. when you hit 10-12 psi you can hear it whoosh a bit still.

lol make some more you lazy fu(k. help out your 33 brethren!

nah seriously that looks pretty good man, it was lucky that toad came through with the goods :)

ha yeah toads the man!

sound interesting... although i think i would rather leave it looking clean, quiet, simple and effective. kinda had that reason in mind when i made it, that if a cop looks under my hood its not going to look too dodgy.

cheers

    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.

    • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • Those above shitboxes, mediocre and above usually have a turbo strapped to them, hence the slightly higher octane is required.
