Hey all,

I'm about to buy an r32 gts-t, and i would like some advice on what to do... I will have about 2 grand to tinker with, and the car already has a cat back zaust, boost gauge/controler, and a few little bits Dr_Drift is throwing in with it. :P

If anyone can give me a few ideas on what to do, it would be great.

Cheers. Matt.

HI flow the stock turbo. Big front mount. 1.1bar boost. Full exhaust.

maxing out most things by now , injectors , afm but u should be close to 300hp at tread =12's.

12's.... if you can drive :P

Went for a spin in a Cefiro with RB20DET, FMIC, full exhaust, pod and HKS 2530, boost controller and 1.2 bar - put down 230rwkw. It was a drift car and had heaps of midrange. Oh, he also tweaked the restirictor to the fuel pressure reg to get slightly higher fuel press, but that was it. The car only weighed 1240kg, but if felt like it had alot more power than it was putting down. It is featured in the latest HPI - some nice photos of it going sideways.

I know that this is a bit more than 2k, but if you already have the exhaust, go FMIC and a bleeder. Then when the funds allow get a 2530 - you wont be dissapointed.

Thanks for that steve... I would love a 2530 one day, but gimme a little time! If anyone has one for sale around the $500 mark, let me know!!! (I'm optomistic...)

But the FMIC will go in. I think it already has a bleeder/control in it, so is there something else? realisticly, i will have about 800 left from that 2k, so what should i do? Get the fuel systems upgraded? Eg, bigger fuel pump, injectors, etc?

Or should i focus on a little more handling? Get adjustable shocks?

Thanks for the advice lads and lass's.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
