SAUWA Fundraising Cruise

for Starlight Foundation

We first and foremost we'd like to congratulate everyone who turned up for this event. It suprpassed all our expectations, with over 300 cars, and close to 1000 people. It was by far the biggest cruise we've ever held, and with all the money going to charity it was great that the Perth Performance Community got behind it.

With money being raised from sell maps ($2), raffle tickets and additional generous donations we're very please to annouuunce that we managed to raise over $900 last night. We think this is a fantastic result, and want to thank all those people who helped raise the money.

Although the weather was wet and there were a huge number of cars there was very little trouble on the night, and was good to see most people behaved.

We'd like the thank the organiser Lucy for all her hard work, aswell as the other members of the Committee and SAUWA Club who helped us out on the night, without your help it wouldn't have been possible.

The results of the raffle are below, please contact me so we can organise to get prizes out to you ASAP.

On behalf of the SAUWA Club thanks.

Paul

yeah i liked the way the cruise was organised and handled.. too bad there was 2 many disrespectful invaders..

what invaders? it was advertised as an open cruise to get as much money as possible

and i never saw anyone being disrespectful all night

Same, everyone was well behaved apart from a couple of people going a bit too quickly through omni car park just for some bov....

The only bad thing I seen all night was a certain someone in a green excel overtake someone on the freeway on the way to omni using the emergency lane, and then later tailgating me with no headlights working. Ironically the same person accusing people of being disrespectful....

Yeah, A personnal thanks on behalf of ANTRX for organising such a great cruise. :laughing-smiley-014:

Amazed at the turn out, the friendly faces everywhere, the money raised.

Thanks again, and hope to see something like this again in the future!

Telethon night cruise?

awsome money!!!

ahahahh i remember that nathan. some people aye.

I must admit I was amazed (and overwhelmed) at the turn out of people.. I really wasnt expecting that many cars on my first cruise!

Thanks to everyone who bought a map / raffle tickets and to those that donated money, congratts to the winners.

After reading through the comments on the events thread, I'm really pleased to see that most are positive! Thank you to everyone that came out despite the wet weather :pwned:

gazza hahaha you got the dinner voucher hahaha maybe you should have said last night you didnt want the gtr but and you wanted the dinner instead and maybe you would have won the gtr book :pwned:

i think the getting lost made the map even better, great map, great night out!

i think someone needs to get in contact with news programs and show that import drivers arnt just hoons and that we are good people who help out for a good course!!!!!

my mate Oliver won the blow off valve, says thanks to all of you organisers. It was funny because me and my other mate were giving him shit last night saying if he wins it, it'll be the only chance he'll get to modify his car, because he keeps putting off any mods he's ever planned for it.

Sorry it didnt go to one of you skyline guys but it did go to another nissan, He drives an S15.

I had the choice of the BOV or Meguairs pack, I chose the Meguairs because im happy with my GTR BOVs (and i'm always detailing my car)...

Im glad someone who is actually going to use it got it... hopefully its the begining of more mods to come :)

i braught down 30+ people to that cruise to help raise funds for you guys..

are you trying to be funny? make a joke bout me driving an excel out that night cuz i never noticed u comming to my face and letting me know that u think ur better than me.

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
