KISIN go speak to Steve from Manta Racing Services he may be of some help,

Andy if your there on sat. i will show you the differences the damper can make

Ill try head out there sometime this/next week but cant on Saturday because i work full day :domokun:

Thanks for referral though

Ive got Tein Type Flex on my 34... I think they are great, OK a little bumpier than your average commodore/falcon but alot better than stock....

Try THR Developments on Grand Junction Rd, they do alot with suspension for rally and Street, Plus they are a Tein Dealer...

Good luck tho if you do sell... im sure they will go quick.

Yeh im amazed how many peeps want these...im starting to have my doubts about selling them lol.

Does anyone know is it possible to just chuck new springs in there ? so i have new springs that are not as stiff ?

(sorry im a suspension noob)

Kisin... Send me a PM with some pics or email pics to [email protected] (take a wheel off and photograph) as i am trying to build a track car that will also be used on the road sometimes, however i want as harder set up as i can possibly get. As to the brand i have never heard of these before. Are they any good peoples??? They sound alright if they are damper adjustable aswell.

I went for a ride in Lees (HOtwires) car as i am thinking about buying them..... THere pretty dammn nice and firm and stick around corners well.

Anyone know of any chunky sway bars that are for sale??? I could also do with some of them to reduce my body roll.

Ill go speak with a suspension place before i decide to sell/not to sell, if i do ill let you know and take you for a spin in my car so you can see how good they are. These would be AWSOMEEE for a track car with the current set up. as i said before glue you to the road.

" Q: What is Kei Office?

Kei Office is the number 1 suspension manufacturer in Japan. Kei Office is named after Keiichi Tsuchiya the "Drift King" and Mr. Tsuchiya has a hand in the development of each set of coilovers that Kei Office produces."

^^^ found that just then...so yeh.

As i said not sure about letting them go easily, however everything is for sale at the right price. My camera got stolen so i wont have pics ready until i borrow 1 of my cuz and take pics.

the coilovers you have are stiff as a corpse. simple as that. most jap coilovers are. i have tanabe's and they will require a chiropractor once you get out of the driver's seat - literally. if that description doesnt suit you, just simply sell them. 2nd hand coilovers are not expensive. just cause there designed by the 'drift king' doesnt make them any better then say tien's or jic's. able to drift requires more then just a set of coilovers. hope you get what you want for them.

In actual fact they wouldn't have been "designed" by this Drfit King, but designed to suit his drifting style! But as Duc said they are hard and thats what they are made for, "a race car"! i would see if you can get different springs in there with a lower spring rate! If you can maybe try Industrial Springs on Port Rd, they can make whatever spring you want, or even King Springs have different spring rates and sizes to suit!

Not the ideal solution. Then he would be playing with setting up the shocks, and farking around later when his handling or traction isnt right.

Sell em off as a set, then go buy something like Bilstein with matched springs.

Yeh true, It really depends on if you can be bothered stuffing around with them, I have a set of Bilstiens and Whitline or Lovells in my car, and for what it is it certainally does do the job!

It actually said somewhere that he had input in the design as well as testing them. The point im trying to make is not "omg drift king = best ever" but rather to point out that they are not your crappy chinese copy ones but proper jap coilovers.

If u have a look at the suspension forum, sk has mentioned (yes im bringing up sk as he is a sus engineer) that the jap shocks are twin tube which arent ideal compared to monotube..

see here - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=114718

Chinese copy or not, Bilsteins (for example (im a fanboi)) will be better than anything that comes from Japan

Yes you are correct Black, But I think for track you are better off with the common twin tube cause they can be harder (I have heard please correct me if it seems stupid as I want exact facts on this), although if you are looking for something a bit better for street I think cusco make some which specialise in streetability.

I've been under the impression that mono tube shocks are the best. And that twin tube are just a cheaper and less sophisicated way of valving the shocks.

Ehh my bike has fully adjustable suspension. You can adjust it in every way possible, and it's damn quality stuff, plus it's stock!

    • Just bought a 2002 Stagea 250tRS VR-X Four AERO VQ25DET and spent the last two weekends cleaning and detailing it.. still have to do the wheels and the engine bay but the rest of it came up nice. Imported 2011 to S.A. and I'm the third owner since it was imported. I met the guy who brought it over, he went to Japan and picked out the car, bought it and ordered the wheels. He also gave me a list of stuff he did to the car with receipts. Coil overs (I have the original springs), 3" exhaust from the dump pipe back no cat, Custom dump pipe,(I have the original exhaust), Plenum spacer, 18" custom Work XSA wheels (need restoring, I've made a start..), Shift kit put through the 5 speed tiptronic auto, TV and menus/screens changed to english, Australian DTV tuner installed in rear. I've just had four new discs and new pads as well as all the fluids including the brake fluid replaced. I have all the receipts for the last 15 years and the import papers in a nice folder. Car looks great, goes like hell but fuel economy is not a thing lol.. pics next..
    • I ended up in this rut again lol, and used a shit ton of filler. One thing I can't understand is, even after using a big long block and going in long X pattern strokes, I always end up at bare metal again with no filler, and my repair started at one end of the door and now I've chased my tail to almost the other end of the door. I was thinking of hitting the panel with a hammer where it might be a high spot and making everything low then filling it, I did this on a small section on my other door by mistake and I think I fixed it lol. Is this a bad idea? The other thing is with guidecoat, whether it's the powder or spray, after I sand all the guide coat off, it doesn't reveal anything for me in terms of high spots and low spots and makes it especially hard when it's bare metal (at least in powdered form), am I doing something wrong here, or likely a high spot I keep going over and creating valleys? Lastly, stupid question but, is it possible that after sanding if I only sand over the filler area where I know to be a dent that it's impossible for me to dig into that dent? Unless there are other problems which I missed.
    • Yeah the rule of thumb with an LS is 7psi per 1000rpm. That is decidedly not enough at 6800rpm. I mainly looked for the scenarios where knock started to be picked up and it was later in the session when things were hotter, and oil was thinner, and the pressure was lower than it should be. (i.e very horrible). I am hoping with thicker oil (I was running Penrite ten tenths 10-40, the manual specifies 10-30) that does not leak that it's much improved at that time!!! I am using Project Mu Club Racer CR pads. I'm also using the Project Mu 335C fluid. The symptoms imply that it was fluid that boiled, but no bubbles seemed pretty weird to me when I bled it today. I want to try Castrol SRF as it has a much higher wet temp but, well, I have new Project Mu fluid lol... so I should at least use that. The pedal on track was really noticable. It went from basically normal feeling to instantly near-floor. The car did pull up as before, it was just very much nearly at the floor before the brakes engaged. At that point I pretty much decided the day was very done, it did *kinda* come back during that very slow cooldown lap into the pits. Felt perfectly fine driving home.
