so how much pauly say the price publicly so we all know

where abouts do u like Hotwire?

Do you mean where abouts do I live? I live southside, Sheidow Park :) you?

In the past I have got my tyres from Bob Jane on Pultney Street as we knew the previous owner for years before he sadly passed. Now the new owner still seems to cut us reasonable deals, but not great like the old owner used to.

But on topic, The wheels look tops on the '34. I Think Gold callipers, Black writing :(

Matt you should buy my old rims ..... they are sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet - got dish?

$1,000 and anyone can have them BARGAIN - newly resprayed around 1 year ago by ROH - plenty of gutter rash since then, but nothing worse than anyone would do to them in a short time anyhow :P

Had a look at those Adrenalins today & they felt very grippy. Was quoted $348 for 255/40/17.

ah i didn't get quotes on those as the guy didnt know they were out already bear in mind they will be very pretty compound

Ok my $2 worth

I have been running 235s on the back for a couple of sets now - 245s and 255s (which I used to run) are ridiculously expensive - like I priced up the 255 GIIIs the car came with and they wanted $550 a corner!

And yeah, it is still sorta stock :P

I did some serious tyre research when I bought mine a & the 2 I'd recommend are the latest Yokahama Advans or Dunlop Sport Maxx. I put the Advans on the front of my car a few months back & all I can say is it's unbelieveable how well the car turns in now. They have completely transformed the cars dynamics on the front end, so much sharper & precise with grip levels so much higher than the S306 Yokies that were on before hand & they have great rim protection too.

I'd also recommend the sport maxx dunlops as they are highly rated.

Bridgestone is massively overpriced & ride on their motorsport reputation just like Michelien. they don't make tyres for the road that justify their price however. I have no doubt what I have is at least 99% as good as bridgestone S03's (I actually read a lot of complaints about these tyres from customers on a US web site & no they weren't driving cadillacs) for a massive chunk of money less. They were even cheaper than what I was quoted for the Grid III's!

Hankook Ventus K104 are awesome tyres, $190 ea for 235/45/17

For the quality and price I wont buy anything else

I also had the S306 Yokies on the back of my car before going to the K104's & I have to say even after the S306's they're a dissapointment. Definantely more predictable than the S306's - most likely due to stiffer side walls - but they are noisy & lack grip in comparison for both cornering & acceleration especially in the wet, I won't be buying them again.

Do you mean where abouts do I live? I live southside, Sheidow Park :O you?

Hey Hotwire, think I've seen you heading north along Lonsdale Highway in the after noon a few times I live down Hallett Cove, think I see you going the other way usually.

As for Bob Jane I will never touch Bob Jane again with a pole long enough to reach from the moon.

I had a wheel alignment done by them TWICE & it still wasn't right. Took it to Wise Choice Tyres down south where the guy spent twice as much time on it for LESS money & it came out sweet.

He found loose adjustments (explained why my alignment went out after just a few weeks of driving), cambers just hadn't been done at all like they should have been & he managed to get the steering wheel straight, which they couldn't!

Please note this is the marion/sturt stores I'm on about, but the guy I got to align my wheels had a generally low opinion of Bob Jane as he used to work for them!

Hey, these are my rims!! Enkei Circlar, mine are 17*8 + 17*9.

How much did they cost you to have the centre re-sprayed? I want to get the lip polished on mine (very dull) and get the centre's painted a dark grey... Just after idea's on prices. Cheers!!

yeah mate they are Enkei Circlar's, and mine are 17 x 8 and 9 too. Tuff wheels! I love them to death, but was feeling like a change.

I have a mate that works at ROH so can get them painted secret squirrel for an awesome price - problem is it takes a while as he squeezes them in when he can. Cost me $300 for all 4 to be taken back to bare metal all over, then properly rust treated, undercoated then the normal ton of layers of metallic silver then clear. I have heard of double and triple this though quotes by paint shops for a simple rub back and respray. Just go to paint shops and get some quotes. If you want me to get yours done let me know.

Yeah Matt - if you wanted them white powdercoating would be the way to go - quite cheap and best long term coating available.

You wouldn't be able to go the powdercoating route if you want to machine or polish the lip Lee - you would have to go for painting then get the lip stripped back.

Matt, come check them out anytime you like. I will be home all day tomorrow working on the car, so feel free to pop over (you might want to ring first just to make sure).

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
