Hey RB@25DET owners out there please i need your help my s1 r33 is a shit box iv spent bucket loads on it trying to fix it its dropping cylinders its driving me insane it mainly happens after iv let the motor cool down and when its not dropping it runs like a rusty bucket iv had the injectors replaced and bout to change the coil packs has enyone had this problem help plzzz :whistling:

Yeah right iv heard that they tend to do that and id beleive it to cus well im having troubles locating witch cylinder is missing its seems to be random cylinders like iv replaced the 5th coil witch i thought was missing but heck no its so random it sucks

You can check your coilpacks very easily. Remove the plastic cover over them. Then go for a 'spirited' drive at night when it's dark. Try to recreate the situation where the engine does its bad thing. Then pull over and pop the hood and stick your head in over the packs. I had bad packs, and when I did this, I could clearly see the spark arcing on 3 or 4 out of 6. Bought new packs, and 100% fixed.

Just easy to check this first since it's such a common thing in 'lines.

you should try what sl33py suggested in another thread in this forum.

pretty easy test theory for your coils...

at the end of the day, its all mechnical/machinery.... solutions exist!

calling it a rusty bucket / shit box wont pin point your problem...

does your turbo still boost up under acceleration?

ok then i might try that, ahh yeah thats the thing !!!! when i put my foot down its still got power i really cant figr it out. Firstly when everything went wrong it was a full miss fire like it had droped a full cylinder so i got the injectors cleand and 5 and 6 replaced after that for about a month it was perfect it was idling and runing perfect all of a sudden it started missing again and noticed the 6th spark plug was shot iv replaced all spark plugs after that the missing stoped but it wouldnt idle very well and weirdly enough after when i let the car cool down after work just say when iv gone to sart it again it starts missing but only for about 10 seconds, so iv been trying ta locate witch cylinders missing bye disconecting the packs while its missing and so far iv replaced one coil pack and still having troubles (so yeah iv had a basterd of a time)

could be a blown head gasket,

it could be running like crap due to water leaking into your cylinders and causing the missfire on cold start,

try pulling the spark plugs out one morning before u start it and crank it with no plugs and see if water flies out of the plug holes

BAHHHH bought new coils 2day and the dam things stills missing iv checked evrything the head , injectors, coils, spark plugs ,does enyone know how much a new coil module is enyone ???????

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
