Central locking question

Car:'94 GTST

Question: when I start the car and drive off,Passanger side door locks by itself after I reach a certain(still low) speed/revs.Has anyone else experiensed this?

Yepp, I've seen this in a mates R33 GTS-t.

Freaked me out the first time

I think it's a safety or security feature (car jacking?).

25kmh will set it to lock. Safety feature for skylines. And I think its 70kmh and your front spoiler automatically lowers and when you slow to 50kmh it retracts

Yes it is normal, yes it can be disabled, yes there have been a few threads about this if you want to know more.

all 4 of my doors lock after i reach 25km/h

My r34 door locks dont do it, i usually do it manually...the exhaust causes a small kind of vibration sound in the door that disappears when in locked position...maybe mine's disabled -

how is this done?

B-man's case, I'm not sure of, perhaps it was just a common option, not standard feature.

I got into Dino's car at Skidpan day and it locked - and I was like WTF ??? I didn't know about this 'feature' until then.

My S1 R33 definitely does not do this - not sure if anything had been done to it -

Skylines all seem to be different in one way or the other.

And yes searching works well - so does helping out fellow Skyline owners. Chill guys OK

I just got my S1 R33 yesterday and when I was driving it for the first time my daughter was in the passenger seat, I accelerated and it locked scared the shit out of me I thought she was opening the door.

a guy i know has just had a late model (not sure on year) cosmo with a 20b rotory twin turbo imported and his doors also automaticaly lock at 25km/h.

So have we figured out how to get it to work? Is it a setting in the ECU or sumping?
