Bliksem
i wonder if this will be as tuneable as the rb26 There will be alot more things that present a new challenge... The simple fact that it is now a V6 will make it more difficult to work on than an RB26... Hopefully it won't be a similar situation to 300ZX's That said, I have taken quite a liking to the new GTR. It has grown on me alot since first seeing it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/174538-2008-skyline-gt-r/#findComment-3202445 Share on other sites
Crash.
Yeah it does look alot better then when i first saw it, maybe it was just the angles of the shots. But that bottom photo makes it look awesome. The simple fact that it is now a V6 will make it more difficult to work on than an RB26... Why is a V6 harder to tune than an I6? Aside from the fact that its awkward to go for a big single turbo conversion? scathing
Hopefully it won't be a similar situation to 300ZX's That engine bay is a lot longer than the Z32's, and from the photos I've seen of the engine bay (damn it, pics are offline) its not quite as cramped as the Z. The Z33 / V35 has room for twin turbos in an engine bay that was never designed for it, and I know of quite a few daily driven FI 350Zs that haven't had heat issues on the street, and only required an oil cooler for the track. The GT-R engine bay looks at least as big, assuming it is the same engine. Fuggles
I managed to chat to the Cheif Designer and he said it would not be as tunable as the RB2x but did promise it would be really exciting to drive as standard. I said it would be harder to work on, Not Tune... There will now be 4 cams, two heads, more piping... much of what an I6 has x 2 ...... scathing
I said it would be harder to work on, Not Tune... My bad. Yeah, it will. There also won't be as much space around the sides of the engine, to go with all the extra bits you need to undo and do back up.
