by the way KISIN i really like the way your car is set up. i could tell at a quick glance that you had all the bases covered.

a little sad you have to sell it but you know what they say..family comes first!

at least i know you havent thrashed it and have treated it with respect.

its a damn shame so many others in that state dont think the same way as you do.

Sell car -> finish house renovations -> sell house -> free car on profit made with house.

Wont be log b4 i have another 1

yea my r33 gtst was almost stolen about 2 months ago down the road in a church carpark while i was at a wedding!!!! they managed to try to rip the alarm out and just cracked it and they also ran off with my passenger door handle and took a screwdriver to the door ats a mess!!! alarms are a great thing!! made dudes there take some notice to the skyline with its bonnet open!! cops tho didnt do a thing we rang them and they said they couldnt do much just looked for the car which was a black VS ss with stolen plates and 3 teenagers! i have learnt my lesson now as this is the 3rd attempt on my car in the last 6 months!!! i have now got a daily and the skyline hasnt seen the road for awhile till i know its safe and i can still see it in my sights! keep your eyes peeled they are out there!

Lucky someone spotted the bastards. Not good times for us Skyline owners at the moment.

It's been awful reading all these threads over the past few weeks. I'd hate for my baby to get stolen.

Have a bit of a read on this site and also Search You Area

sounds fun but wouldn't make a difference.

if that was the case and people thought twice about commiting a crime if they new there would be a consequence, there would be no crime in the world would there?

When we were younger we had a few issues with 2 areas; police action (or lack of) didn't work.

Vigilante action did. They dissapeared; must of moved area. Either way it appeared to work.

One was a group of surfy bums, another a group of drunken aborigionals.

In this case.. Unless its a group then no. Its near impossible.

This reminds me of my mates brother.....parked his commo at a busy car park for 40 mins to come back and find that his car was on blocks and his very recently purchased 19" where gone.....and this guy paid over 3 grand.....but they were hideous so i think they did him a favour....

seriously crazy that whenever I park my car I have to think about it being taken or wheels stolen.....absolute BS!!!

No matter where you park, if people want to do your car they'll do car, be it in the driveway of your home or at TTP. If you spend most of your time worrying about it, then you really can't enjoy the car for what it is.

I'm with madaz, get insurance, get an alarm, and if it gets nicked start again.

    • Finally got shipping number for the intake and throttle body, shipped by UPS, so "should" be in my hands sometime next week, fingers fracking crossed
    • I'm so far behind in the jobs I have to do at both work and home (including car) that I have become immortal. There's simply no way that I can die now.
    • Each to their own I guess  Me, I put just as much time into cleaning inside of the cars as I do on the outside As for getting wet, it is really no different than steam cleaning the carpets at home, apart from the cars carpet dries alot faster than the house, again, I only do it in the hotter months and leave the car opened up for a few hours As I only do it yearly, it is just before I do the diff and gearbox service, so I clean the carpets, then it's up on stands, wheels off, service, clean the undercarriage,  grease the bushings and do a nut and bolt check on everything  Disclaimer: I typically had all the time in the world to kill when I was working 🤣, so spending a full day or 2 cleaning, serving and "looking at stuff" was,  easily achievable, and a fun mental therapy day As for time to kill, I retired last Wednesday, so apart from my physical training, my days are filled with lots of random jobs around the house and garden...."Idle hands are the Devils something something" I am also buying a new house sooner rather than later, I'm actually looking at a potential property tomorrow, I'm looking forward to getting a car hoist as I'm starting to get to old to crawl around under a car, I can only imagine all the undercarriage cleaning and looking at stuff when that gets set up
    • Yeah, I'm not interested in wetting the carpets, and I don't care about brown dirt/dust that lives deep in the pile or underneath. It's not like I crawl around on them in my birthday suit or eat dropped food off them (because there is never any open food in my car). The seats are alcantara (cheap Chinese imitation alcantara, to be sure!) with barely 1" of foam pad behind the surface. That's not getting wet either. Any car that I would be happy to get the interior wet, I would not care to put the effort into.
    • We have one that holds 2.8L of water. On floor carpet that hasn't been touched in 2 or 3 years, will take a minimum of 2 fills of the tank to do a bedroom, and that's going AROUND the bed.   In the cruiser, I used an ENTIRE 2.8L tank, just on the front passenger footwell. But it had some fungus growing, and had been full of mud from being used as a 4WD for many years. I can do that floor again, and it will still pull mud out. However, the water now only looks dirty, not pitch black and leaving full sludge in the bottom of the tank it sucks back into. Oh, and, this is about a $1500 unit.
