Hey mate, i'll ask Amec for you, but I think he'll say the same thing that he said to the GTS (non turbo guys). If you buy 1 and try to fit and calibrate it, and it doesn't work, send it back to him and he'll refund your money.

ah ok so dont drill any holes if i suspect it wont fit cause obviously he wont refund if ive butchered it

I've sent him a PM, so i'll let you know as soon as he replies. As for that question, i definitely wouldn't drill any holes in it. Put it in and try the recalibration..if that all works then drill away...if not take it out carefully and send it back and you should be right :D

Hopefully it works fine though and you can keep it in your car :)

yeah i just went and took a happy snap as i thought everything the same minus the boost gauge and addition of slip and AWD to which i could get a slip and AWD vinyl made up

looks identical except for the lack of boost gauge and the slip 4wd lights mate....considering all of those things are part of the tacho, I think you'd be fine if you left your stock tacho in place and replaced all the other faces with the ones from this kit :D

Let me know if you want to be put on the list and i'll give you the payment details.

yeah Johnny put me on the list please

do you know what light mod this is

Amec said same deal for you as the GTS boys...try it and if it doesn't work, send it back un damaged for a refund...I'll add you to the list. Check your PM for payment details :ninja:

As for the lights, As far as I'm aware thats just the standard globes, not even LED's

list updated ..

still waiting on payments from 6 people on the list....if you haven't paid and are on the list, can you please let me know if you still want to be in the group buy

The following people still have not paid

JeaneenGTST

SK8N33

R334door(s2)

DaGr81

R334door(s2) has already told me he's paying today so thats fine, but the others, if you're no longer interested can you please let us know so everyone else on the list knows where they stand. if you are still interested can you please pay ASAP so that we can get the speedos made, and everyone will get theirs sooner!

cheers

hey all,

would really like one of these kits. just a few queires though, do they definately work for auto's, are they only $100? and how would i go about paying for it.. cheers!

ill have a try at answering, correct me if im wrong jar or amec

yes they are onbly $100

they are just vinyls so they will work with auto as long as it is the same layout

i am 95% sure the solder point will be the same on an auto to make it a 300km speedo instead of 180

payment can be made by direct deposit

just want to get mine soon lol

thanks tek 01..spot on

Mate there's a photo of the kit fitted to an auto cluster on the first page, so it definitely fits. I'm almost certain it works as I haven't heard otherwise, but like a few other people in the group buy, with non turbo skylines, Amec will refund you if it doesn't work on your car and you return it un damaged.

Let me know if you want to get in on the group buy and i'll PM you with the bank account details to deposit into

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
