rev210 and Sydneykid:

As a matter of fact our shop is on the Gold Coast, and i might just get some NOS stickers and decals put onto the dual horn buttons...

but that would only encourage people to press them even more....

besides it makes my day when clueless enthusiasts can't determine the difference between what they've seen in a movie and what is REAL in the reality....

One of out suppliers is starting to get a bit unhappy with all of our quotes we are getting for our customers on NOS kits, bottles, solenoids, foggers, etc, etc that don't follow through into a special order, as more often than not most people can't afford these kits...

Have a look at the R34 on cardomain

http://www.cardomain.com/id/brian_01

This is apperently the car used in the movie, you can see for yourself that it does in fact have an RB26 in it. It does have the GTR logo on the front grill however the car is listed under the normal Skylines not the GTR's so i dont know wots going on there.

unless however this is purely a showcar for the movie, considering this car does 12.1 second quarters and nowhere near what is achieved in the movie but neway its still a pretty nice 34.

Zensoku,

Maybe you can offer the rice boy's a NOS sticker up front and say things like ' with this $200 sticker you won't even need the kit! '

Nothing like time-wasters to ruin it for the rest of the genuine customers like myself. I'm almost dreading the next call to my local bottle filler cause I know there's bound to be a bunch of fnf idiot-wanna-be's hanging around. I wish I had a Ozrace kit then I could just go to BOC for a refill.

I can get flames out the exhaust when I bounced off the limiter... Quite easily actually :)

No switch in my car! :)

I'm not saying its not fake, all i'm saying is how can it be done in REAL life. I like the idea of having flames out of the exhaust it looks good (not all the time though, probably with a switch or something).

I saw it yesterday....It started off awesome then just lost the intensity! I miss Vin Diesel! Funniest line in the movie is where the Fro dude rings up Paul Walker and says "Yo, wanna race?" & he says "Yeah I cud use tha money".....yet he's got an R34 GTR in his garage decked out with tha biggest NOS bottles! The things we do 4 our cars.......

:burnout:

it was funny when he calls "brian" and asks if he wants to run and he goes "yeah i need the money", then proceeds to get into a 150k+ car.

anyway, hot cars, hot chicks, it's all good!

i'm not normally a rice fan, but it was the time and the place.. you couldn't really have cars WITHOUT stickers in the movie!

i loved how they filmed the first race scene. and at least they kept it correct (skyline and supra in a diff league to the s2000 and rx-7! *flame* *flame*!)

yeah, but the skyline needed some suspension work... should have gone past the supra on every corner, then pulled away.... but somehow, with a crap driver, he never went past the supra.....

S of S

hhahhaha timmy :D thats a classic ... with all them turns .. as if ... but in a straight line ... maybe .. and the bit where he goes "i cud use the money" thats exactly what i was thinkin to myself ... how the hell can he afford a 150k car ... same goes for the rest of the racers .. the supra guys girl friend .. "u know we need the money" and they are all driving 150k+ cars hahahaa jap cars must be really cheap there ...

    • Yea that's a fair assumption. I'm presuming they call them solid lifters as they have no moving parts like hydro lifters.
    • I believe you're confusing WMI with water injection. Looking at that graph, the 93aki+WMI car is making more power than C16 race gas. Boost juice, which is what I also run, is Snow Performances 50/50 premix.
    • GCG is a good company, they're a major distributor for Garrett in Japan as well.
    • Nah, OEM washer bottle and brake fluid reservoirs are fine I don't know what it is with the plastic that Mazda used, some plastics, like the washer bottle and brake fluid res are fine, and still look new after 20 years use, where as the coolant expansion tank, and PS reservoir, that I replaced with new OEM items when I first got the car, turned yellow and started getting brittle a few years later If the dirty yellow stained plastics didn't trigger me there wouldn't be an issue, but they did, much like the battery bracket....... Meh As for going back to work full time to support car stuff, nope, why, because I own a Mazda NC MX5, not a Nissan R series Skyline 🤣
    • I've never heard of CJ-motor, so can't advise you on them. I'd just go straight to GCG for a GCG highflow though. Seems no point to use a middleman. I'm somewhat surprised that the price on the CJ site is lower than the GCG retail price. Even though CJ would get a discount of some sort, you would hardly expect them to give up so much margin. Maybe the price is out of date? Having said that "I'd go to GCG"...when I did my highflow, I went to Hypergear. I did this https://hypergearturbos.com/product/rb25dethighflow/#tab-dyno-results with the R34 OP6 450HP profile. With the BB centre (extra $400) and intially with the standard boost actuator, but I eventually got him to send me the high pressure one when I got to the point of being able to actually use it. Ends up costing the same sort of money as the GCG highflow, but this is, of course, the turbo that I KNOW has a shorter length core and so moves the comp cover rearwards. The GCG apparently doesn't do that. My mechanic also swears by the GCG highflow, given that we have another turbo rebuilder who does something essentialy the same as theirs, using Garrett wheels. He says it stands up at really low revs and makes good power. I haven't pushed my HG highflow past ~240-250rwkW yet (should have a little more in it, but unclear how much) and it does have a fairly gentle boost ramp. OK, it's much better now that I have gotten my boost controller tuned up on it.  A lot of my earlier unhappiness was because I couldn't keep the wastegate flap as closed as it needed to be (including some mechanical issues). I'd still prefer it to boost up nearly as quickly as the stocker, and it certainly a bit slower than that. So maybe the GCG one is worth the first look (for you).
