Just posting up about last week at wsid.I had met quite a few of the skyline forum members down there s the tyre gauge I lent out sparked up conversation everywhere. I only go twice ayear to the drags and I ended up popping the 0.000 reaction time and ended up taking home $960 dollars. I didnt even know there was a prize for this..I am still amazed!!

Btw very nice to meet you guys there the other night cheers

yeah

the timing equipment at WSID is obviously better than it was at the old Creek strip, because i seem to remember any better than a 0.004 at the old track was classed as a redlight.

I have heard this too.On their website of wsid they actually have an article before the night that it is the quickest reaction time without crossing the red. This must mean that they know if I had run the red!!Which obviously I didnt.

60 footers went to buggery 2.486 to 2.9 . Standard ones do 2.3 lol. As a result the et wasnt good at all. The wagon had no traction whatsoever.I had taken it out to see where its at. Last year it ran a 14.7 .It has more power this year but just cant get traction. Today I treated it nicely and installed some traction enhancing parts. The takeoff has dramatically improved. The rear leaf springs are not flexing at all.

The last run of the night and no final timing board.Tyre pressures were adjusted and the car recorded a 2.109 60 footer 6.088 330 footer and 9.335 660 footer. This run was on par with a 14.5 1/4 but never got recorded. But it happens and I still had a great night.

  • 2 weeks later...

at willowbank a perfect reaction time is 0.400 cause it starts timing when the last amber light goes off. this is taken from the willowbank raceway website

It measures the time from when the last amber come on to when your front wheel clears the start line beam. Now as there is exactly 4 tenths of a second between lights, it then follows that a "perfect light" will be four tenths of a second - meaning that the vehicle has cleared the stage beam at exactly the same time as the green light came on. This is shown on the time slip as .400. Anything less than this means that you left too early and red lighted (fouled) and any more than this is wasted time sitting at the start line.

Btw I didnt know the darn gauge was faulty on the night ..I am sorry:(

Also wsid do have the best timers and they also register red light breakouts. It was not a breakout.

new pb thats good. i should be heading out in bout 3 weeks or so with some new upgrades... thats one quick taxi

HEHEH Its not too bad .i did 90% of the work myself and had Croydon racing tune it. It isnt running 100% as it needs the diff gears and a few things I have touched retuned. I would love to run a 13 na but thats another story.

Good luck in 3 weeks mate:) :P

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
