Hi, I was wondering if R33 GTR wheels are a good upgrade for an R34 GTT for track work? Do they clear everything, or are mods required and are the offsets suitable? Are they light and strong enough to make them worth using for this purpose? Thanks!

They clear everything and fit well, i have a set and they are good for track work as they are 9" wide and can take decent size tyres. The only mods you will have to do is flare the gaurds if your car is lowered.

235-45-17 is the perfect size for a 9 inch rim, especially for price, availability and guard fitment.

maybe wider on the rear for drag use, but otherwise no need.

cheap brands can be had for $100 brand new, but offer no grip. or up to $300 brand new with great grip

they should.

they will easily fit the rear, with the front it may depend on camber and tyre size as to whether they fit.

the rim will fit for sure, its only a matter of what size tyre.

i have seen many GTST's with GTR rims

how good an upgrade would you call them? did they make much difference to handling?

I had RE55S on them..

so HELL YEA! ahha

pretty heavy though, compared to the enkeis I used for the street.

Could feel the obvious difference in weight when you're turning the steering wheel

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
