Nothing was really said that is incriminating.

Well nothing to really worry about anyhow. I'm sure a cop would be able to distinguish between the thin crappy paper they use to the 80gsm stuff that we use. It would never look the same unless you were really good and most of us probably arnt' :)

I remember seeing an Avtar of the owners car.. It was a dark greyish colour with black wheels and the rim towards the outside was a darkish red colour.

He burned left around the round about (after he pulled in front of me) and I saw that it was running quite rich.. Not lots but like a small skinny stream of black smoke (fuel) from the exhaust.

I think he saw me give it a bit up flagstaff hill as the turbo's do love the hills :)

I get pulled over by cops around Golden Groive regularly, they seem to like turning their lights on, and then driving right on by when you pull over, it has happened to me at least 3 or 4 times along the Golden Way. In one week I was pulled over and id'd three times coming away from there, supposedly due to a spat of car's like mine being stolen.

Chris32, which printer do you work for, or are you your own operation?

NO, the cop would not give me the list he had on him. Dont know if you can get it from motor reg or not. Its hard too know what you can and cant do if we havent got a list. We need a list of ADR's for each car.

This is the closest I have found of anything on the net guidelining vehicle modification, it doesn't cover much but there is a bit of useful info in there, it is for NSW but should pretty much be the same for anywhere else.

It would be great if we would be able to compile a list of defectable mods so we have some idea of what we can be done for if we're caught

i got defected last night .. but it was only an official warning luckily cause one of my head light globes blew up .. i only noticed it 2 days ago and i'm going today to fix it up ... there was no need to do any paper work but the ****er of a pig decided he had to ... could of just told me my globe was screwed and let me go .. but no he said .. "this is just an official warning so if u get pulled over again they will know that u have been warned!!! and you will get defected!!" ... screw them .. as if u would drive a decent car and not get little things like this fixed up ... oh well at least he didn't defect me for anything else ... the first thing he asked was .. is it a turbo?? this is the second time i've been pulled over .. the first time the cop pulled me over because my passenger didn't have a seat belt .. he got away with it ... and also that time the pig asked ... is it twin turbo?? LOL whats it with these cops and turbos?? can't they just do some reading so they would know??? they should get of their asses and do some research ...

Dude, (oops sorry, kanga:D) he actually gave you a permit to have a bust light bulb, cos if another copper had pulled you over, you could have waved the bit of paper in his face and would have been on your way. If you got pulled over again, with nothing to show, you could have copped a regency insp if he/she was being a fark head.

I think your best go out and buy a lotto ticket:) Pulled over twice, not defected, and both times let off with a warning.

well i asked him .. are u going to defect me?? and he said .. i'm thinking about it ... what a d1ck hahaha ... anyways the light bulbs gone and i couldn't get it out and it broke so the bulb is still in there .. how to get it out?? i just put in a new one just then ...

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
