Sure why not.. Going fast (Speeding), doing a burnout, doing a rolling burnout, locking up your wheels, making noise, making smoke, accerating fast to the speed limit at the lights, puttin your arm out the window, throwing ciggy buts outside, throwing rubbish outside, tailgaiting, driving really slow, stopping suddenly, not looking left and right for cars, going on a huge mega cruise with your friends, owning any sort of flashy or un-"normal" vehicle

Dont see why they all cant be classed as "street racing"... even defects and acting drunkenly can be "street racing"

OK i'll shutup now you get the point.. :laughing-smiley-014:

Maybe the NSW police should have a talk to all the tv shows that support cars and motorsport racing and ban all that too? I mean heck monkey see monkey do...

Ok i'll really shutup now...

dont know if u guys are getting it too but i have been asked soooo much if i street race at work just because i drive a skyline....

did anyone see the article in the weekends paper? listed cars that are fav street racers with the gtr being the king of street racing....

I am really pissed at police senior management for this.

There is no better way to push cars back INTO street racing than making the only legal venue, WSID, unsafe (ie don't go, you might get defected afterwards).

Idiots.

Were they defecting people or just booking them for misbehaving?

I have a problem with the former, absolutely. You shouldn't fear a sticker for participating (entrant or spectator) in legal, safe, off-street motorsport.

However, if they only targeted people misbehaving that is a little different. I disagree with being draconian, though. After watching for a few hours you get revved up and want to have a squirt yourself.

I think a "sting" just antagonises people. Park a few highways around in full view and with their lights on. That will slow people down. If they persist in trying to double the speed limit then book them. Sneaking around just proves their intentions are to f**k you up the arse for their own entertainment. Be public, say "slow down because we are watching". And prove it by sticking your car in full view.

did the 180sx get a mention as being a favourite street racers car??

if not, I'm selling it.

gold ;)

sorry bout the couple that died, in the "street racing" accident

the cars that hit them were standard commodores not cars that were racing at eastern creek. the guy that was on the front page of every paper had 3 previous drink drive charges, so isn't it the fault of the police that he was driving??? if the government were so worried about young speeding drivers why don't they do something about it?( introduce drivers education at school, or defencive driving courses)

lastly why do they have to put all people who enjoy cars in the same catagory of being a "hoon".just because we have a "hotted up car", it doesn't mean we're all d*#!s. thats what the media tells everyone.

(I bet the police don't sit out front of the v8 supercar races booking people like at eastern creek.)

I agree...the government should be encouraging people to go to WSID. What happened to that WRX that Fairfield Police was given in order to promote off-street racing? They crashed it??

Positive promotions (such as the police WRX) and policies not knee-jerk reactions is what is erquired - drive education and training, more police presence, not just underhanded undercover tactics. It is well documented that marked police cars are more effective at reducing road-related offences than any other form of police/govt operation.

Yes, not all car enthusiasts are car hoons. maybe we should start a bumper sticker campaign: "Car enthusiast, not car hoon", similar to ANDRA's "Street racing is not drag racing" sticker slogan.

The sad fact is that they will most likely never introduce a proper driver training scheme because it will COST THE GOVERNMENT MONEY. And, despite evidence of various proper driver-education schemes having a positive effect overseas, they refuse to accept that it could work here. They seem to think that it will encourage people to drive even faster and take more risks than they already do. Seriously, at least if those few idiots still chose to make tools of themselves (and there WILL be some, let's not pretend there won't), they'd be better prepared to find their way out of a potentially fatal situation and/or lessen the risks to themselves and other road users.

Maybe we should get some stickers made up along those lines, maybe even take and modify ANDRA's slogan: "Street racing is not PROPER racing."

The amount of knob heads still playing up on that section of the GWH is amazing but no surprise.... I drive between Minchinbury and Penrith on the GWH every day to go to and from work and always on the way home in the evening (about 8pm) I see the usual suspects pulled over. I think to myself perhaps they're just picking on us again.... maybe that's partly true; but; I somehow don't think thats the case given just about every day I either get somebody trying to give me a run, or others speeding like crazy weaving through traffic. If people just behaved themselves for a bit this would probably die down a lot quicker.... but damn these idiots just persist with adding fuel to the fire

Oh and I noticed something when checking my insurance the other night, AAMI appear to now offer a free advanced driving course with a 10% discount off your insurance premium for drivers under 25. I thought this is an excellent initiative, I'm going to inquire about taking part.

my brother did a traffic offenders course as part of his behaviour bond. it has completely changed the way he sees driving. i think they should incorporate that into schools or at least pass it down as a penalty for people who get suspended.

Davis Rd, Wetherill Park was where I used to go to watch. Never raced there because I never had anything worth racing (and wouldn't have anyway, I value my licence too much).

    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?

    • BRUH, one of the biggest mistakes of my life..... and i've had plenty ;[)
    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.
