the drift day was bloody awsome! i wouldnt of been able to do it though coz i dont know how my car handles as of yet hehe waiting to go skid pan with the club then i try my best :mad:

nice one =) we have an industrial zone here too.. =)

has a nice 90degree corner at the end of some uber over steer and to battle for a high speed cornering..

has plenty of criss cross roads =) ECT(estimated cop time) of about 20mins =)

not to mention the joondalup, whelshpool, canning vale special stages =)

I used to have a ball on the CVSS.... used to work right there... those sand dunes were pretty cool every luch break in my VW taipan buggy too....

The best bit about our area... ECT unknown.... they didn't show even after a few hours.....

I am very much in agreeance with Birty on this one, as opposed to Badbiki's idea of slide recovery. Badbiki's sounds like fun, but...

If you car oversteers (back end slides out), steer in the direction of the slide (this is known as opposite lock), so that your whole car is going in the same direction. This is what stops the back of your car from overtaking the front! Also, like Birty says, back of a tad, and leave the tranny in the gear it is in. If you try and downchange, the engine braking could lock up the rears (note: to down change without locking, blip the throttle on the downshift), and bring the car into furthur oversteer... even if you don't lock em up, you are still very likely to change the attitude of the car in a bad way.

The caveat to this, is if you have set up your car in a specific way and you know what you are doing with it, or, of couse, if you are driving a front wheel drive vehicle. If you oversteer in a front wheel drive car, DO NOT GET STRAIGHT OF THE THROTTLE! Be warned, I had some fun on a wet roundabout with this one day :D ! The transfer of weight to the front wheels can be rather scary.

In case you are wondering, I learnt the joys of oversteer in my first car, an old Nissan/Datsun Bluebird. Living in the Hunter Valley (right near the Wollembi Rd, for all you motorbikers), with lots of dirt roads, and too much spare time :D

Fellers, why make it sound so complicated -it's not, it's easy. I've been doing it for over 50 years, and as long as we're talking about oversteer,would you believe,all you need to know is what direction you want to go,and keep steering in that direction [as many times as necessary]. Keep some gentle throttle on and do your best to catch it early.

Those who can do it,analyse what I've said,and you will realise that I am right,and we can then stop confusing people with "steer in the direction of the skid" and "opposite lock" etc., and just tell people that they don't need to analyse what they are doing,wonder "which direction is the skid" etc.? [by which time they're probably wrapped around a tree],and instead,just be gentle on the throttle,and follow natural instincts and keep re pointing the car in the direction you want to go.

Understeer --- now,that's another story,and I wont go into that much more difficult task.It's sort of possible,some of the time to get it under control,and stay on the road - sort of. Best thing to do is neither buy or drive any bloody stupid front wheel drive,naturally understeering killing machine.

hmmm, people always tend to think drift is just getting the ass out on a corner... its so not! drift is holding it sideways from before the corner and holding it until after the corner.

i haven't tried yet in the 180sx. ;)

Come on -- drift is just a longer,more controlled version of getting the arse out on a corner, PLUS it's the slow way through the corner. Except only on some specific dirt corners -- NEVER faster on bitumen or concrete. Looks good,but it's S L O W..

Fast is brake late and hard,right line through on maximum throttle without breaking traction, and exiting on full power without getting off line. All smooth and tame looking,but I'd be half way to the next corner by time the spectacular drifter got out of the first one. See ya later!!!

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on   
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers    
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
