hey powercruz is cuming up in april in darwin whos up for it it will be a great cruz and ud hav a chance to take it out on a track well im going and maybe kurt and a few other people it on 19th april im preaty sure its on just dont wanna be the only one goin

dont be soft and put ur car were they belong on the track

I'll be driving mine and stopping at every stop for fuel :-p Shouldn't cost too much. When I took the commodore it cost 650 round trip sitting on 120 there and back, thrashing around hidden valley for 2 days, then cruising darwin for a week after. Had 2 trips of 20km each where 240km/h was required to get items to keep the old chevy going too.

Not jealous craig. Mine is a freak too, What kind of a bitch gets about with cracked skirts and your ass hanging out.

i dont get it are we still talking about cars??? cos if so my skirt has a hole in it lolz , oi 650 not bad but gees i aint rich altho my car is payed off in april so thats an extra 500 a fortnight i got 2 play with , but man after that drive 2 jims place my car was hot as . dunno if a huge drive to darwin would be good 4 it unless i changed the radiator fluid with flash ultra coolin shit and bought a bag o ice at every stop 2 lol

Your car will be fine bro. Every car gets hot on trips lol. Plus, we drove to Jim's place at 42 degree day.

I went to adelaide and back for $430 both times and i make around 500-550 per tank at 110kph, but stopped 4 times for breaks and easy re-fills. And thats the same distance to Darwin.

You'll be sweet as if you go and you wont over heat lol! dont be soft lol :), and thats wicked you'll have an extra 500 to save or spend :)

Wont need a trailer man, if kurt's can do it and his blows fuel out the window you surly can.

Hi Fab

Sorry couldn't make it to your place to inspect motor. I'm on call and getting reamed this week.

Was going to go to power cruise but taking my R33 to Super Lap at Oran Park at the end of March. Going in Club sprint class and I'm driving the V-spec there and back. Really want to put the white car on the circuit properly (flat out) which power cruise is not. Getting retune at CRD also while over there just to optimise tune further.

Blue car's third gearbox arrived today too. Brand new OS Giken 5 speed and OS R3C clutch.

but man after that drive 2 jims place my car was hot as . dunno if a huge drive to darwin would be good 4 it unless i changed the radiator fluid with flash ultra coolin shit and bought a bag o ice at every stop 2 lol

What's wrong with your car then ?

My current tune I sit on 140 km/h all the way to Darwin/Adelaide and back and costs me around $650 -$700 return easily. Sits on around 78deg.C and I have a stock radiator and cap. Unless you've got a blockage in radiator or stuffed thermostat it shouldn't do that. Man, I drove from Melbourne to Adelaide in the WRX without ANY fans at all (they are thermos only in WRX), just the air blowing through the front at 100km/h and it didn't heat above normal temperature. I'd get it checked.

Well if I put some wider tyres on the back and stop getting on the throttle so hard then having it's ass out won't be a problem.

Lol, I'd like to know where the suposed 15k spent on the car is. Maybe he's adding in the cost the insurance company paid out to repair it when he had that "sneezing fit" and crashed it?

Lol, cammo's 180 smashed fry that night at the pump station. Good times.

Is that Greg the F-wit who bought my old GT4 ? Looks like it from the photos - that car cost me $16000 then he tried to sue me after crashing it!

Edited by BK

How could he sue you cause he can't drive?

It'd be lucky to be pushing 170kw atw after all it's been through. He should race it next drag meet and show us then

Was looking at tyres, can get a full set of 255/40 R17 for rear and 225/45R17 for the front here including freight for $545. Choice of Michellin pilot sport, continental conti 2 or bridgestone potenza re blah blah blah

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
