R32 Boosting

I have a standard R32 GTST coupe and the factory boost gauge shows that its not boosting all the way..

the factory boost gauge goes from -7 up to +7 and when im nailing it it only goes up to about +3.5..

i dont think this is normal so do ne other R32 owners know how far their boost gauge goes when they boost it.

another thing ive just bought it and ive noticed that its quite fast in 1st and second gears, but when im in 3rd 4th and 5th it doesnt seem very fast is this normal?

check your hose is secure and its not moving around when driving.

As you go up the gears, your torque that was there in 1st and second, is still the same at the engine, but the taller gears for 3rd, 4th and 5th, give more RPM rather then torque at the wheels.

Hence, feels slower.

Also, get a proper boost guage, don't trust the stock one.

i used to notice it when my car was stock too

its read in hmg whatever that means

not psi

as the other guy said

get a good boost guage

i had an autometer one

that was 3 psi out

my hks one is spot on

i put my car on the dyno and it read 10psi but the stock one on the dash said i was only gettin 5 maybe.

dont trust the stock one.
