Just wondering if anyone has ever installed an electronic fuel pressure gauge in ther R33?

As I am trying to work out whats the best way/place of instlling the sender, im wure it isnt that hard by I have neevr done a Fuel pressure gauge before..

Any help appreciated.

I have just started looking at this myself as I am paranoid about fuel pressure dropping and blowing my engine.

Have you got an electronic gauge yet? if so what have you gone for?

I am also trying to egt some answers on the forum in the U.K so if I find anything out will let you know.

I've put one of these in a 32gtr, just put the sender into the fuel line where it heads into the fuel rail, run the wiring to the cabin, source ignition, headlights and earth...done!

I had trouble with interfearance from the other gauges that I ran ina little loom (5 other gauges) so run the wires on their own

Ive got an autometer electronic one, rocket part number AU3363.

Cool thanks for that mate. Just to clarify, you put the sender in with a T-piece obviously before the rail, but where abouts exactly?

Is there any real risk regarding loss in pressure as said?

put the sender in anywhere between the fuel filter and the rail. I used a T-piece - double ended barbed fitting which had a thread for the sender (can't remeber what thread it is).

The interference was from the other wires that I ran with the fuel sender wire, the fuel flow itself was fine

The return line is low pressure, just dumps back into the tank.

The fuel reg is at the end of your rail, not the start of the rail, think of it as holding the pressure up in the line before it. Like holding your finger over the end of a garden hose to hold the pressure at a set level in the hose..

Yeah you can get them on Ebay, although I got mine from Just Jap. They're pretty cheap but I've used them in the past with no problems. This one is giving me the shits though, the low pressure warning keeps sounding as I drive. Time to check the wiring...

Something with proven accuracy not just pretty looks. You might want to investigate your claims that autometer is "good shit" just because a company is big doesn't make it good. Although I don't want to turn this into a debate about gauge brands.

I was thinking something like Earls, however most brands only have a 15 or 30psi gauge designed for carby setups.

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.

Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
