its a security apartments, maybe i should just leave a note on his car...?

somebody left a note on my car once i was so pissed that they couldn`t knock on the door and discuss the problem , i think leaving a note is a what a coward would do , knock on his door ask what is his problem is. My guess is that he is gutless F*ck who uses there car as a weapon

just to clarify...there was one right turn lane at the intersection and as you turn you can turn into either of the two lanes on the new road. either way you are not allowed to overtake on the lefthand side of someone...

either way i'm just gonna let it slide... tahnk you all for your ideas and advice... good to see what others think...

Ive never flipped the bird on the road, never shaken my fist, never yelled obcenities. Yelled (at myself) for getting behind a slow furker but thats as far as my road rage goes after 13+yrs of driving.

What you should do is knock on his door, say you are his neighbour with the white van, explain that you were obviously pulling to the left for him to go around, but he never realized this, and apologize for the finger. Then ask about the mods to his car, how it goes and all that, and let him know about your beast of a 'Line. Plus definately mention to him tha slamming on the brakes was a particularly dangerous thing for him to do.......... extend hand for a handshake, then move on.

there was one right turn lane at the intersection and as you turn you can turn into either of the two lanes on the new road

Your actually supposed to keep to the inside lane as the other one is for the people coming the other way turning left and you only move over when its safe to do so...I do it most of the time in just trying to keep good driving habits for that time your not concentrating and there IS a car there....but in your situation it was obviously clear and safe to move over straight away and yes your not supposed to overtake on the left....he's just an impatient prick who thinks everyone should get out of his way which isn't the way to make friends on the road :D

Hope it all works out for the better and no keyed guards.

Cheers!

Well, where do I start... I'll share my experience I had last Thursday.

I was headed to soccer-training, and after filling up I pulled onto one of the more main roads in town (Orange, isnt THAT big, but its a well used road) and proceeded to be slowed to 30kph by a new, dark blue lancer. The lights ahead (200m) are green, and I'm thinking 'shit i could over-take and get those' but i was smart, thinking 'no if i do that I'll surly be spotted by the local cop.'

I sit approx 1/2 a car length (R31 car length at that) behind the Lancer, not wanting to get too close, but kinda close enough to say 'you're going too slow' we stop at the lights to turn right. The road, very similar to what the first story involves, turns into a dual lane. I figure that he'll limp off the lights and I can go my merry way around him.

Lights go green, the lancer guns it off the lights, thinking 'good, he's worken up' I follow at normal distance, Mid way thru the corner he slams on his brakes and sits in the middle of the lanes so I cant over-take. By this stage I'm thinkin 'dubyah tee eff mate' and when he moves over enough I go around, (only to have the next set of lights turn red) :D So I slow down, (slower than usual) and tap the brakes right at the line to stop a bit hard (prolly not the best move, but hey).

As I move off, he hangs back and then comes screaming up the outside lane, I dont want to have a bar of this (you never know what an idiot in a car will do once they're infront of you) so I planted the old RB30 as well. 2 lanes merged into 1 and he had to squeeze around the inside of a car to stay behind - going over the speed limit i will admit.

Now i've realised 'our' speed, I slow down with the Lancer still on my date, I can see him flashing his high beams, swerving left & right, with his indicator on, obviously wanting me to pull over so he can have a go, the other thing I noticed in my mirror was that he had a disabled sticker on his lower RHS of the windscreen... (yeah thats how close he was)... he feigns pulling over, and then comes again with the high beams and the rest... after which he stops on the side of the road & I keep on going.

it was freaky shit, bit hard to tell in type, but it give you a good idea I hope. I feel like I didnt over-react, although I probably could have done less (like letting him overtake, but then you run the risk of goodness knows what... at least I had the situation under my control. I did nothing to provoke this bloke I'm not an aggro driver, I get pissed off at people who do the wrong thing, and I'm not afraid to use my horn when people do stupid things (like cutting lanes mid round-about while you're on the inside) but I never provoke. This crazy shit was out of the blue.... Scared the shit out of me!

@BJ: that's pretty crazy man. That's the only problem with road rage, you don't know how crazy the other person is and how far they're willing to take it. Sorta scary really.. There are some absolute hot headed maniacs out there that will pull out a club lock and smash the crap out of you and your car without thinking twice.

hahaha same thing happened to me yesterday!

some moron in some BM was in a line of traffic infront of me, light goes green and hes going through his glove box, not moving. I beeped and he slamms reverse in and stopps inches away from my car. then takes off in a hurry giving me the finger n all sorts of nonsence.

wtfs his problem? got beeped by some young punk in a skyline? who knows?

The finger is just a reflex reaction. It's hard to not flip the bird at a wanker when they're being their wanker'ish selves.

Yep.. but like daveo says 99% of the time it only makes things worse. Probably because if you're struggling to rub 2 brain cells together you drive like a f**ktard and you're also too stupid to understand why people get upset with you, so you assume the problem is with them.

Leave it be. He was the one who got pissed and was driving like a twit, you were trying to do the right thing so don't lose sleep over it!

Should have got his rego and reported him. Usually don't think of that sorta stuff until after it's all happened though, easy to get distracted in the heat of the moment when the adrenaline is running.

Yeah, I was behind them, but at that stage 30kph was nothing to report a driver about (although i recon he'd been down to the local for a few - hence why so slow, then so aggro) by the time he started acting like a tool I decided to be infront, and he sat that close on my date that I couldn't see his numberplate!

:)

actually, to clarify, the road rules actually say that you can overtake in the left lane, but only if the following are true:

1. Speed limit is 80km/h or less

2. There is no "keep left unless overtaking" sign

3. There are lane markings

4. It is safe to do so.

On roads with speed limits above 80km/h it is implicit that you keep left unless overtaking

On roads with no lane markings, you must overtake on the right

Regardless, when turning right at an intersection you should always turn into the right-hand most lane unless the road markings indicate different

I'm not commenting on what happened, just stating the facts as I read them in the vicroads handbook so we can all be better informed drivers.

end of lesson :domokun:

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
