Didnt know where else to Post this.

But It has come time for me to get mi Mits on some new tyres. Ive Been Looking around a bit, and have Noticed that Bugger all tyre shops actually have 20" tyres. BoB Jane were the only place out of about 5 that I Visted, that actually stock 20" tyres, only 1 brand tho, WANLI and $320 a tyre stings just a little. So I was hoping some 1 could steer me in the direction of some Magical place that have various brands of 20" tyres and good prices.

peace!

Your worried about $320 a tyre for 20's? onoes...

Dude a decent 20" tyre that isnt a death trap is going to be at the least, $400-450 a corner, and a lot more for a decent tyre

What distributors have you tried so far?

i would spend the extra $$ and get a decent tyre.. Ive had a set of cheaper 20" tyres and they squell when cornering and have minimal grip and were outright dangerous in the wet.

I now have decent Nankang NS 2 performance tyres which costed me about $500 each, but their well worth it as they wear slower and have a heap of grip.

You can't put a price on your life.. trust me go the extra mile and buy something decent..you pay for what you get.

wtf?

lol thats massive for wat car?

widebody R32... rear wheel is Work VS-XX 17"x11" -6 offset. 315/35/17 is a common sized tyre in the US as its the same size corvettes and vipers use. They even make Nitto drags in that size

Kakimoto wide body R33

I wish... kakimoto takes 355/something/17's. lol craig almost tore his hair out looking for new tyres... only people that make em are bridgestone and pirelli... special order.

I just bought 20inch rims for my R32 GTR i live in Sydney and got them from Tempe tyres, they were custom drilled on site and are perfect offset for the car.

They sold them with Nankang but i upgraded to a Toyo brand. It fills the guards perfectly and still have room to lower the car 2 inches from stock ride height when i get my coil overs soon. They cost usually $3600 but they had a deal going and i managed to bargain them to $2800 fitted with the up rated tyres to so i was very happy.

I cant believe it but my ride quality is still great even with the mrs in the car i was very surprised not that bumpy could be because i had a good set of tyreson there quality counts.

When i figure out how to put pics on this site i will put it in you guys will be surprised how good 20s look, i will keep the Original forged 16 inch GTR rims for track use and drifting events but the 20s are for show.

Cheers,

Dave.

Hi there Paul R33 i am not sure what it will cost for 20inch rubber yet i got them as i great package deal. But i will say this my GTR in its current mild form ran a 12.4 1/4mile with ease i had no wheel spin or broke traction, i have pushed this car hard on the street always and never had had probs unless i wanted them if you know what i mean and all of this was done with the cheapest set of standard Bob Jane tyres. Yep no bull so if below average tyres will rack up a low 12sec 1/4 and handle decently on the road im sure a set of low profile Toyos will easy out handle and grip the cheapest set of Bob Janes.

Cheers,

Dave.

have u had the wanli's before...??? iam not really a fan of them as the tend to understeer in the wet, wouldnt suggest them for a performance car.

Yea ive Got WANLI's atm, and they are dangerous in the wet. traction is a minimal. Drifting around every corner in the wet is bit rediculous at times. but id have to admit on Hot days they are Alright.

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
