Marques in the Park is coming up again in November on Sunday the 25th. Have enquired about what we can do about organising a space there. Had a great time there last time. Hopefully will again :P. Putting this in the main forum for more attention.

Meet up around Barrine Drive near Commonwealth Ave bridge and cruise in convoy to John Knight Park 8:30 -9:00am. Show is on from 10am till 3pm. Was quite a turnout last year. Would like to know who is coming etc. Is a great day out.

Your car can be anything from a daily driver to a show machine, everything is accepted. They are trying to get 1000 cars this year.

We were talking about this at the Museum on Friday night... I have an online quote for a banner for $295 and although we haven't decided where we are getting it made, its a good start with our fundraising target.

Fundraising to date:

$30 drink donations at night shoot

$50 generous donation from R33Driftr (Jeno)

$110 dyno day

Total: $190

Michael: would we be able to use the Federal Tyres tent for this event? That would be a win/win for both of us.

In the thread says 110$ was raised which is great :( p.s. was also wondering if someone could run a detailing clinic? To give tips on getting our cars all shiney for the day? good excuse to raise money too

Thanks, Ive updated my post with the dyno day figures.

I was also thinking about a detailing clinic/detailing day. Who knows enough about detailing to run a clinic?

Pretty sure I should be able to make it..

I'll just come and hang out with you guys, it's close enough to being a skyline.

I did a little bit of work at a detailers (Kims) a few years back. It's just patience and time. also a really fine grade steel wool (and windex) for the windows works a treat, but be carefull not to use it on the inside if you have tint!

the Canberra Celica Group will be there, so i'll have the sprinter out if anybody is keen to have a look, also I'll have the camera out taking lots of happy snaps, just give me a yell if you need anything.

J

i'll be there - a good deadline to get the car finished by, and a good opportunity to meet some of you.

i'll also bring the camera for pix.

    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
    • It's been quite the ordeal but hey, at least you figured it out.
    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
