i was out all day/night and had a great time, ev was extremely consistent and drove well. (big congrats on the 2 trophy's)

Denzo was driving much better than i have seen from him in a very long time.

All the usuals like lindo, christian and mardle drove like mad men, awesome to hear christian is going to America to represent us!

Took some pics but they were all pretty ordinary looking at them now, the old man came out with me and took his good camera so hopefully he got some good shots. i'll post them later in the week when i grab them off him!

Yeah simon, was surprised when i found out you werent going out!

of course also Well done also to my bf Luke (skylineguy19/orgzmc) in the burgandy 31, qualified better than last g1 but got knocked out in his 2nd battle.

Thanks guys, it was an awesome day, spewing my first battle was against #8 Kippling, but hey. It was good fun and got home with a thropie at the end of the day so, couldnt ask for more. :(

Congrats to Evan...mate you were on fire last night, well done!

Congrats on Most Improved Ric and I'm guessing qualified 9th since you raced 8th? As I said before, I'll be tryin to keep up with you when I finally get back out there! I only ever managed 11th...

Glad you actually made it there in time to compete seein as scrutineering had already ended and driver's briefing was in 4 mins when you left :(

Thanks showza but mate you got it all wrong hahaha, I qualified 26th or 28th cant remember exactly :) but Kippling's running #8 on his car, so he was number 8th at last year season, am I right.

Anyway, the guy should have been on group 1 , but probably had a few bad qualifying runs and qualified just...

mate I can only dream about qualifying that high up, but we are getting there, Im pretty happy, tyres were awesome, grip I had was amazing, more speed, more angle, if I could just afford newies everytime

Cheers

Ric

had a awesome day out there, equalled my finish at rnd 2, but as flick said qualified higher up this time, so very happy with that.

Went down to ben monkhouse in my top 8 battle in group 2 so wasnt too upset losing to one of the monkhouse boys.

Huge well done to ricardo on getting himself the most improved trophy, top work man.

Big congrats to ev and taking the win in group 2 and the best rookie award.

And well done to christian on taking out the series.

    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
