Thats a bummer.....hope you didn't have too many troubles buddy.

Did you eventually see what the problem was with the old one?

na the old one is still on my car

Good day eh Steve? Bet you are itching to get that new turbo fitted!!!

yeah :) cheers heaps for your help will get it fitted Tuesday evening :D, will sort out a time for me and shannon to get the fuel pump in my car also dont need it detonating on my way to melb

better leave a trader rating for you :P

ive asked this question elsewhere, but to no avail. Need some advice from anyone running an RB20DET, and using an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

finally got my oil pressure gauge in on the 31. Did an oil change while i was at it (naughty me, 2 practices on the same oil and she's black as hell). Admittedly i changed my grades of oil (as i had some sitting around from drift school) - gone from a 10w30 to a 20w50...........wouldnt have thought that would make THAT much difference tho

started it up, pressure started at 30psi..........after about 30sec i hear a warning beeper going...........look into the cabin and see the gauge at 2psi.........turned it off, checked under the car (no leaks etc, nothing wrong). Started it again (mind u, its running EXACTLY like it always has), back at 30psi, and after about 15sec the oil pressure is dropping off back to 2psi again

im confused. is my gauge knackered (its brand new), is my sender knackered? I know it couldnt be a true reading as for that low a pressure the thing wouldnt be turning over. There aint no death rattle, nothing like that. Wont get a "legal" chance to take her for a drive on the street till at least next Monday, so wont know how it behaves under load until then.

any advice/feedback is appreciated

fk i hate it when im the office scape goat.. i organise stuff... the ppl involved don't communicate, then i wear the fall out when the customer shows up and the sales tard turns around to me all like wtf where is the techo??

sales guys sh*t dont stink, and they have no honour...

techo's are delicate genius' needing everyone to tip-toe thru the tulips. and feign not understanding things if its 1/2 way laymans terms...

and both only pay attention to procedures when it suits them.

/rant over.

i feel better now

never a truer word spoken! i'm just being a bit picky atm thats all, have blanketed the job market wif my name, had a few offers but they weren't up to par. What i am working towards is joining the defence force, the corporate environment is not for me... been thrashing myself into a resemblance of fitness :P

up hill battle but im getting there

hmmm that sounds familiar...... hence the fact i quit last week

nos only last so long and nos will still blow your engine

meh. have u seen high octane? they did an experiment on an r31 to see whether they could blow the engine with nos took a high amount of hp before it blew.......................was quite funny tho lol

i dont even keep the bottle in the car so its all ok............. im not that stupid. its for dyno and track use only.

have been told tho i can get defected for the lines *touches wood* hope it never happens tho.

Better off turbo'ing it..

Voids the insurance exactly the same but at least you may get away with it as the cars are released with turbo if your ever pulled over. + then you can use it all the time. :(

Even still a ~100hp nos is bugger all; you'll still have a stock rb25det with a pfc sit side by side if not whoop yo ass. :D

150hp you may pull away but very slowly.

We don't have a track nos can be used at. ;) One day AIR will reopen for drags.

but why should i be like every one else who has a turbo'ed car? honestly what ever happened to uniqueness??? i dont want to be like every else.

and im sure if i ever take on a stock GTT i would be able to keep up i too have a power fc. i have many plans for my car, and none of them include a turbo.

and what about mallala?

    • Nothing cheap, but I have seen the AC Hydraulic DK13HLQ which is pretty close to what you're asking for. The problem is the hydraulic cylinder mandates that the back of the jack be a certain height and Skylines have fairly deep inset floor jack points. A more certain and cheap option is to get some nominal 2x10 inch lumber boards and have one board be 1.5 feet, the other board 3 feet. Glue it all together with lots of clamps to maintain pressure. Make two of these. The ramp suggested above is a good idea, it takes quite a bit of clutch slip to get over each of the boards. I only need the first ~1.5 inches for my low profile jack on a standard ride height car but a lowered car you want to go up to the full ~3-3.5 inches. Paint it or store indoors if you want it to last.
    • Ok. And Nistune? I read (here too) mainly on Stagea threads that it can by "turn off" with Nistune. But they say they still had the sensor plug in. Next week iam going to the Nistune(and other ECUs) tuner so i can finally make it work. I drove the car home and apart from the cut it drove great. No misfire no smoke no hesitation or rough start...so hoping it is this sensor that is missing
    • I just stack 2 pieces of 200x50 timber on top of each other. Total length about 900mm, with the top one being a little shorter and both having a 45° angle cut on them to make the front edge a bit of a ramp. Put these in front of each front wheel, drive up on them, throw the trolley jack under. Takes 1 minute. Scissor jacks can eat a bowl of dicks. I never use on under my car unless desperate.
    • Well, yeah. But I just expect everything other than my car to feel like a bucket of shit anyway. I still miss my Alfa 116 so much though. You could run over a 20c piece and tell whether it was heads or tails.
