Half cage is legal. I'll get the section from the ADR handbook in a sec.

From memory, it must be padded and you must re-register your car as a 2 seater, but I'll look it up now.

Edit: and get it engineered, and carry the paperwork with you. But either way, cops wont have a clue and will defect you even if you show the engineers report.

Edited by CRoNic...
can anyone recommend anygood places to get roll cages made up that are road legal, cauz i wanna get a drift car biult up, and still have it legal for the road.

cheers... michael p.s guess its gunna be an expensive sport but, seems like poeple are getting into it, oww luke(orgzmc) do you know much places to get good parts and what i need for it, im thinking of a 180 or such.

Alright here's a quote from what the act says:

Roll Cages

Due to the increased risk of occupant injury in vehicle accidents the fitting of full roll cages are not permitted.

However, the fitting of a roll cage rearward of the driver is permissible providing that:

a. No part of the roll cage is contactable by vehicle occupants when positioned in their normal seating

position.

b. The roll cage is at least 150 millimetres rearward of the front seat occupants when the front seats are

located in the most rearward adjusted position.

c. All rear seats and seat belt assemblies fitted in the rear compartment are removed.

d. The operation and effectiveness of the front seat belt assemblies is not affected in any way by the roll

cage.

e. That no person travels in the rear of the vehicle at any time.

-dstroy u plan when and when you not gonna need it :D i think i might go roll my car

on a unrelated matter the 1 benefit of police attention on cars is i can skate freely where eva the hell i want, gone are the days i used to get 30 min leatures of pointless dribble and friends getting $50 fines. was skating down jetty rd went past a cop with time on his hands and nope didnt even so much as look at me. love it ;)

here is my stealth ute shes a monster now with the black sunnies and truck pipes, wonder how long till the cops pull me over bout it. :P

keep a look out for this at glandambo 4x4 event if anyone here goes to it you might see me there this year. im gunna jump the table top and land in the mudpit, hopefully land on all fours.

on another note is it illegal to have your cam gear cover off as i want to get some purdy red cam gears.

Not sure if it's illegal but I wouldn't recommend running no cover, if a stone gets kicked up from the road and comes into contact with the timing belt and causes trouble, things could get interesting. Just buy a clear cam cover then you have protection and can still see all the pretty stuff

hey all, just wondering if anyone knew if you can put gtr injectors into a 33 gtst and if so what els do u need? eg resistor packs

i do believe its a no go... they only fit on rb30 an 20 from wot i'm told...

rb25det are side fed, rb25det neo is top fed and rb26, rb20 are top fed

it could be done but there needs to be some modifications to the rail, collars etc best bet is to just go with side fed sards or nismo injectors

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart.
