I'm Crying Inside!!

Thanks To Those Yellow Bumps On The Road (Accidentally Hit One) One Of My Front Coilover's is snapped

holy fark that sucks! hks coils?
I reckon he has coils from china made of bamboo :D

So sad to hear that Tom

You sounded like you actually liked those coils a lot

Hope all goes well and you can get another coil at a decent price

I think your right steve....china bamboo by the sounds of it

was in the same situation you are a few months back, thought about going cheap king springs & shocks, but ended up waiting for a few more weeks, and sacrificing a little.

and ended up getting HKS adjustable coilovers and they were well worth the wait, makes a huge difference.

Plus second hand coilovers aren't that expensive these days, seen sets for like $800.

only 12 spots left in the SAU AFL Fantasy Footy league! see sig.

also, any (decent) offers for my wheels?

You'll never sell those rims... you may as well get a metal saw and cut them into bits so u can see as 'Genuine DamoR34 paperweights, limited edition vpec 3'

-D

Damo have you tried selling those wheels in the main for sale section

also have the price a bit lower i guess.....coz you can get those Doriftotecks for like $1400 for 18's

just a suggestions

loose $200 or so bucks to get rid of those wheels i think is worthwhile

or another suggestion is wrap them in semi slicks for some mad track days

craig wtf were u searching for!!!

Do R34 skylines have factory immobilizers?

How do you know if your alarm complies with AS406??

Trying to answer stupid insurance questions!........

Stupid indeed, who asked you that, all the times i've asked they just wanted to know if i had an alarm, not if it complies with AS406 etc..

lol, conversation with JustCar

"how can i help you?"

"oh i installed an alarm in my car, just wanted to update you guys"

"yep thats fine, anything else?"

That's not what happened with me.

They didn't care at all about an alarm, they wanted and I mean mandatory a black wired 2 point (at least) immobiliser. So I had to have removed an alarm/immobilisor I had put in the car a week earlier that did not comply and have another installed that did comply.

Threw $380 down the toilet because I didn't do my homework in regards to Aus standards and what just car insurance required

finished the big front mount, lol looks funneh - sitting tooooo low

got to go back an inch or two, but that means re-lipping something I cant do here.

grrrrrrr, still bolted up ok just yeah, too low atm.

going in for touchup tune in 2 weeks so will get it fixed then; my knees cant be bothered atm in all honesty :D

drives well tho

ahh ok i did mine over the phone, r34 i suppose it would say on the alarm/immobilizer unit itself AS406, but since it's from japan, which i believe they did have a factory immobilizer, probably not.

Just tick yes lol, and upgrade to an aftermarket alarm from like Tisonics etc

    • Update: O2 sensor in my downpipe turned out to be faulty when I plugged in to the Haltech software. Was getting a "open circuit" warning. Tons of carbon buildup on it, probably from when I was running rich for a while before getting it corrected. Replaced with new unit and test drove again. The shuffle still happens, albeit far less now. I am not able to replicate it as reliably and it no longer happens at the same RPM levels as before. The only time I was able to hear it was in 5th going uphill and another time in 5th where there was no noticeable incline but applying more throttle first sped it up and then cleared it. Then once in 4th when I slightly lifted the throttle going over a bump but cleared right after. My understanding is that with the O2 sensor out, the ECU relies entirely on the MAP tune and isn't able to make its small adjustments based on the sensors reading. All in all, a big improvement, though not the silver bullet. Will try validating the actuators are set up correctly, and potentially setting up shop time to tune the boost controller on closed loop rather than the open loop it is set to now. Think if it's set up on closed loop to take the O2 reading, that should deal with these last bits. Will try to update again as I go.
    • More so GReddy oil relocation kits, sandwich plates, etc. all use 10AN fittings. And same, I've only used 10AN and my car sees track work (circuit, doing laps, not 10 sec squirt business).
    • street use or race track, what hose size and why? what factors change with the hose size options ?   see most comon is an10. when you see most oem external coolers are closer to an12? does high volume oil pump like nitto need an12 or 10 be just fine
