theyre stupid is what they are.

and i cant even put into words how properly ridiculous this thing would be;

Years ago a Peripheral ported 26B, 4 x rotor job won Le Mans. If I remember correctly rotas were banned soon after

Rotarys are effectivley a 2 stroke engine (even thought they don't actually have a stroke) that is why they use more fuel but that is also why they produce so much power with such small displacement.

How about these apples;

oh, ive bought a set of pads for the s14 as i can hear the current ones squealing, nothing special, just something to keep my brakes going til i get my qfm's and rda's, but uh... ive never changed pads on 4 pot brakes before, so would anyone be willing be help out?

they are the easiest setup to change i have encountered. the rears require a bit of fiddling to "screw" the piston back in, but they are still 10 times easier than my ford rears that also screw in and you need a special tool to do it (which i didn't have).

3 sided rotor is kinda like having a 3 cylinder 2 stroke with rotor apex seal opening/closing ports as seal passes/exposes the port

Yeah sucked big time. I still think the best days were when we had BMW's, Volvos, Ford Sierras, GTR's in the ATCC

Holden v Ford is a little boring imo

Word to mutha..... its a boganfest atm.... the group A's were much more interesting to watch.... too many rules in motorsport these days. I just wish it didn't come down to R&D budgets.... I reckon some of the early grand prix's in the 30's would be more interesting to watch than todays F1..

F1 which I've been following for nearly 25 years now has been pretty good still up until the last 4 or 5 seasons. Cutting capacity back to 2.4L V8 from 3L V10 and then the engine development freeze and then controlled ECU and now they've f**ked 'em up with new aerodynamics. Should be an interesting first few GP's this year....

Yep there is 3 power "strokes" per 1 revolution of the rotor but there is 3 revolutions of the eccentric shaft per 1 turn turn of the rotor. Since the output shaft is the eccentric shaft, there is 1 power "stroke" per revolution of the output shaft which is the same as a 2 stroke engine.

    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
    • For DBA, check out their guide table here. https://dba.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Direct_Replacement-Guide-2021.2.pdf   Additionally they have some other guides and info on how to make sure you choose the right pad.
    • Sorry, just assumed that talk of coloured pads meant EBC red/green/yellow/shit stuff. I don't know the DBA pads, but it's a reasonable bet that they will be OK. DBA make good stuff generally. Those 4000 series rotors I linked to are very good. I may well replace the RDA rotors I have with those when required.
