Any one here used Potenza G3's, RE-01, Toyo T1R, Toyo R1R?

Im in need of new tyres and thinking of one of those tyres. Also are the R1R a semi slick?

thanks Luke

My R34 came with 255/40/17 G3s on the rear and they were absolutely awesome in all conditions. Problem is due to the unusual size, when I went replace them was quoted over $400 each. Fail

im going the G3's on the silvia for the fronts next practice.

ill find out how they hold up compared to the bridgestones ive got now that after 2 track days, their already ready to be moved to the rear to be finished off haha.

You actually want to use a KKR turbo?!

Okay.

im using a kkr330 turbo on the drift car but the internals are all replaced with garret gt28 stuff.

pretty awsome turbo, comes on boost pretty hard all the way to redline!

I went to look at a 34GT-T at Torque Motorsport on the weekend, ment to have done 64,000kms yet the interior was more warn then mine and i have done 109,000kms....

They wont give you any history either. Or let you drive it until you negotiate a deal, signing papers saying you will buy it subject to the test drive.

Why the hell does there have to be so many dodgy Skylines around. Gives me the shits.

Sounds all like Synergy Motorsport to me!!

Mate looked at a Supra, had to sign papers and put down a non-refundable deposit, etc after a test drive even though he wasn't keen on it at all after the test drive.

I'd steer away from them then. Sounds dodgy as. Reckon they've turned back the odometer?

you dont *have* to do jack. If you've driven it and dont like it, just walk away.... and if they point a firearm at you to make you sign it, the contract is void as per terms of duress

Yeah I think there is something up. With KMS that low the interior should be immaculate, the wear on the steering wheel and gear knob was really bad and there were a few holes in the carpet under the drivers mat. Everything inside was more warn then mine.

The engine sounded healthy and looked clean but it could have been replaced. Cant drive it to test the gearbox which is a pain!

There was also a bit of the body kit burned/discoloured from the exhaust. My dad said it looks like a respray on it, and it only had one tyre guard which was a bit odd.

I tried to get some history but all they say is they get them from interstate and there is a privacy request....

rofl at privacy request on a used car.........I would've laughed my brains out all the way to the door.......and that would put me off any seller like that for good.

that's it just take your money else where! i buy my car when they let me test drive and if they seem a bit worried then i'll let them hold on to my license!

All imported cars look clean, especially the engine, after it's been blasted and cleaned in quarantine!

    • Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots?  What do you mean it was just temporary?
    • Can u check this way it works for power supply?
    • These coils draw 10amps that what i read online
    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
