Sucks doesn't it Craigy waigey!

ROR ya big poofs!

Nope. Transport SA says "Although the law gives you the same rights and responsibilities as other road users, all road users may not be aware of this. You are more easily injured than motor vehicle occupants are and it is therefore safer for you to be highly visible and look out for other road users when riding. The law does not give anyone indisputable right of way. Do not assume that another road user is going to give way"

Ben that cop's wrong bud......my info is straight from the motor accident commission for who I investigate for.

My wife's niece had a similar situation happen to her thru stationary traffic last year and with only 3rd Party Property ins, the other driver had their car repaired by her ins and she had to foot the whole bill to get her own Ford Festiva repaired.

What I reckon you're referring to is more to do with a duty of care and defensive riding/driving, not road traffic laws unfortunately.

Cops will always give you that sort of a spiel by stating that you are both responsible purely from a safety aspect.

Well, I'd like to see the specific legislation > I googled and all I got was some shite from transport SA and thats why i went and called holden hill to get their opinion.

Can you please link to me the specifics? I know that if I had hit the cat, I'd be covered by my private comprehensive insurance, if not the 3rd party, but I'm still wondering if there isn't some kind of liability for a cyclist. I understand that if it was 3 lanes and not 2, and he was in a car, then it would be no contest... I'm just wondering if there is a diaspora between the interpretation of the law for cyclists in bike lanes rather than designated heavy traffic lanes - in part because the thing i quoted earlier says that cyclists and drivers share the road equally, that also meaning cyclists might NOT have to have any specific duty of care for the fact of them being more vulnerable. I do understand the point you made being upon this basis, but still.... I'm a little concerned that neither he nor I could see each other... Andrews advice to be supercareful is sage advice, but where does one draw the line? I make it a point to keep turnoffs free while I drive in peak hour traffic, should I therefore be liable for providing an avenue for another driver to hit a cyclist? Its a tough one ...

^^^ Yeah I get wht you're saying Ben, but the simple fact is that if you can't see, then don't go. As I said above, I don't ever slip between stationary traffic, even if they leave a gap. You just can't see. And if a pedestrian, cyclist or motorcylist whips around stationary traffic then you have no chance of stopping. It is a hard one though - that is for sure.

When Carolyn t-boned the chick in my story above she hit her passenger side at around 40km/h - sure shook them both up and did serious damage to her 2 year old Laser SR2. The chick she hit was adamant that Carolyn was in the wrong, but the insurance companies decided significantly otherwise. The chick also did a runner, as ubeknown to us she worked nearby and ran to her work in a bit of a daze. All got cleared up though.

Then when Carolyn was 8.5 months pregnant she was sitting at the same interesction (but turning right off Main North onto Regency coming from the city) waiting to turn right, and the similarly turning car in front of her did the right hand turn (on a general green turn) in front of an oncomping car, causing the oncoming car to swerve to miss them and collided as a glancing head-on with Carolyn's Accord Euro.

Needless to say she doesn't go anywhere near that intersection anymore.

is it just me or does sleds new sig look like ass?? not even the bike can save it from failing! =P

LOL @ Ben getting a 2 week holiday from the forums coutresy of Sled for paying out his shiny new bus.

Andrew do you want me to swing past your joint and pick you up in the truck tomorrow night on my way thru?

I might take the Skyline mate, as I am not sure how long I am staying, and whether or not I will visit my perants who live nearby after.

But feel free to come to my place and cruise on up there with me. What time will you be here?

Actually, are you working tomorrow arvo Pete? If you are not, come a bit early and we can go a for a hit of golf at Par 3 up the road from my place (I think you golf, right?).

That offer is extended to anyone on here - If you are keen on coming for some Par 3 golf goodness at Valley View Par 3 (we can take beers also), PM me. I would imagine heading there at around 4pm.

I've got to go to work in about 4 hrs for a couple hours so I might just get up late morning and stay in the office tomorrow rather than going out on the road.......won't 4pm be pushing it for time?

regardless of situation, running him over is a tad extreme.

anyone note it said the kid was drinking, he's 15 yrs old lol no wonder he was tripping. it is a possibility the cabby was trying to scare the kid into thinking he was gonna hit him and then his druken ass staked it causing it to be closer than the cabby intended. but then he still bolted off

For those ppl that use Motul Engine oil Repco have 20% all Motul at the moment.

I normally go around on my own in about 1.5 hours. But depends how good golf we play. OK, let's say 3:30pm at my place, that way we can have a roadie, and be on the course just before 4pm. If it gets to 5:40pm we can give up and head back to my place.

So, SLED is in, Madaz is in. Any other takers?

    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items

    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile

    • Ok so i will NEED to have this sensor anyway even with Nistune (or standalone ECU) https://justjap.com/products/genuine-nissan-boost-pressure-sensor-evap-control-system-fits-nissan-r34-skyline-c34-nm35-stagea-pnt30-x-trail-rb25det-vq25det-sr20vet?currency=AUD&srsltid=AfmBOoqfxX48bW9bEwH62orcNhtBfp7ekAL0C9Ca89ySFGUiBzXfXeze Is this the correct one? And this is only thing i need? No other "things" connected to the sensor or something? I do have the wiring.
