Got a message from a mate that there is going to be 60 cops coming over from Victoria (great swine flu) this thursday for a 2 week blitz in Adelaide.

Donno what the blitz is on but I'm guessing it's going to be everything. Just a warning

Are they bringing over equipment/cars etc for 60 cops? Are those cars being driven over ... doubt SA has extra cars for 60 cops not employed by the SA Govt. 60 families missing their partners for 2 weeks. Who's paying them? Vic Govt going to pay 60 cops to work in SA?

I find it hard to believe :P

In any case, I have nothing to worry about.

it beats most comoodores on the street let me tell ya that!

Sv8's are really underestimated, less weight but same suspension and drive train as their SS brothers. I almost picked up an ex-police executive 2yrs back, stock looking exec with 6ltr ! :P

6ltr ay? must of been the ex-cop ones that had them. mines only gen3.... 6 spd. etc,.

only thing i dont like it doesnt have cruise or leather.. but the power makes up for it

I just drained 7.5K Km old Motul 8100 and it looked relatively good other than it's dark appearance, no sludge. Just replaced filter and put in some 10/40 300V chrono, didn't do a flush as I don't think it's necessary... yet :P

I'd rather the oil look dirty... at least then you know it's doing it's job.

Yeah last of the VZ exec cop packs, most went to NSW and VIC. pretty sure the VY SV8's were about 70-100kg lighter than an SS, maily due to the lower spec trim and less sound deadning.

As for oils.. Still..

Make sure you flush is if your going from Synthetic to Mineral or the other way round as you can't mix the two. It causes a chemical reaction and is not good!

Also, go to Big W for Castrol EDGE it was $56 bucks last week! :P

that would make sense...

mine would weigh abit more i reken with the upgrades that have been done to mine anywayz...

What in your NA? :P ohh I forgot your friends with roo and his blue mesh

haha jokes aside yeah I have had nothing to do with martini, infact ive only herd of it cos of boost worx....

whats roo got to do with the fact im sponsored by martini racing?

lol .. i actually thought that was quite normal...

However... i've been eating leggos tomato paste straight out of the jar hehehehehe

;) oh dear........

i like it shaken not stirred thanks

yes, yes i know mr krishy

Ruby please change your avatar. I'm soooo sick of that homo comic male thrusting his groin on my screen that I skip all your posts and the ones directly above and below it.

It's worse than the blue mesh... at least I don't see that in my own home.

I guess you could say that the oil being dark might be because it's dirty. I was always under the impression that oil was used in engines ect ect as a lubricant rather than a cleanser :P

    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
