CORRECT...........I still laugh everytime I see those signs, you'd think businesses would've learnt by now.

simmilar to the signs in retail/clothes shops saying you have no right to a refund or exchange after set time frame or just not at all. i see them all the time and its actually illegal to even show signs that claim to restrict your rights.

no matter what you can have refund, exhange or repair at your choice if the goods have a fault from when you recieved the goods.

but then whos gonna bother spending the time to sue them, bored old ppl are too busy attacking the car scene at the moment :)

wow mitch i can't believe that they went through your car as well.....would be interesting to find out what has been taken out of your car and how mangled the interior is??? hope nothing got taken and they left the interior reasonable condition.....

I need to hear from the following SAU:SA members ...

Nismoid had issues with the following accounts:

Nugsy31

Rodney, I'm now aware that you've changed username to -RBD2-

Nugsy, there was a problem getting you on, but I think I found the problem

oh no thats some shattering news there mitch.....i feel for ya mate....the thing that i dont get is how is it not covered by the workshop.....the car was on their premises so its their responsibility isnt it?....thats like almost 2K worth of damages there man....hope somehow you can get it back from them.....

yeah thats it...when i got pulled over for spinning my wheels to avoid getting t-boned by some moron in a camry...there was still a listing of when i got done "tresspassing" back at least 14+ years ago when i used to be a stoner.....

apparently my car has to have comprehensive insurance to be covered there and that their insurance doesnt cover it?

who says.......Dave & Mike??? :P

What if they only had your engine on their premises and it was stolen.......you can't comprehensivley insure an engine!

Speak to consumer affairs......your car was secured on private property, not driven on the road.

Yeah i will be Pete, im not going to let this slide.

    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
    • Semi slicks are horrible for road use, just use a high performance road tyre unless you really need the maximum grip. Noisy, unpredictable (amazing, until they are not), expensive due to very high wear and not good in cold and particular wet. And yes, it is a thing to store cars on stands instead of tyres if you know they are going to be parked up long term.....but who ever realises that a short park is going to stretch into years before it is out again!
    • I know in Australia you'll definitely get above 30c. Parked in the shade in Summer you'll be above that. 😛 But in cooler climates, you might get that warm driving on the highway for a bit, but you'd never get to full heat temp. I'll try and find some of my historical tyre temps between Aus summer and winter (be aware immin the warmer area of Aus too.)
    • I get that taking off the head is best but that's a bit much for "just" valve seals. I was just under the impression that one would be able to rotate to TDC and be able to temporarily drop the valve without losing it and effectively having to remove the head to then recover it. I never knew people actually pushed rope into the cylinder to do valve seals hahaha So just to confirm, just going to TDC will not work? In that case I know when I do valve seals I'll maybe just remove the head and do some other things while I'm there, or just wait until I do an engine build.
