RB20's are good one thing and one thing only... Bouncing off limiter around Mallala sliding... Other then that imho they're shit LOL

Rolling start or no rolling start you'll have to get your doors from the start line :merli:

neo has a solid head

yes solid lifters, lower emissions levels , and if its a series 2 it has higher torque cams in it. the output goes up to 206kw as well

  • RB25DET - twin-cam turbo (T28 Turbo) (245 to 250 hp and 319 N·m)
  • NEO RB25DET - twin-cam turbo (206 kW (280 PS) @ 6400 rpm, 362 N·m (37.0 kgf·m) @ 3200 rpm

Released in 1998, the R34-series Skyline engines have a big emphasis on reducing emissions.

The existing RB25DET was reengineered to NEO specs, which apparently produce around one-tenth of the CO, HC and NOx emissions levels allowed under Japan’s 10-15 test mode. Further changes include a ball-bearing turbo, slightly larger intercooler, free-flow exhaust and revised ECU (which allows up to 10 psi boost). revised in late 2000 bringing extra torque (probably through a bit of extra mid-range boost).

nothing you could noticeably feel tho.

wrong.!!!!. I notice it after driving the first car I put a deposit on. a black 98 R34

with a few legal mods it perks up very nice

still needs more power or better gearing , RB30 torque

So.... how about Craig Lownes and Jamie Wincup driving for Holden next year
the ultimate blow to Ford fans :D AND they are taking 888 with them :P

888 Racing has had no manufacturer (FORD) backing since last year....so they have been pretty much doing it all by themselves.....HOLDEN has now come up to them and offered then the manufacturer backing which is so much better for any team.....hence why the big swtich....So not only is the cars switching the team and the Sponsors as well.....Craig and Jamie can now show all the other Holden drivers how the commonwhore should be driven....:P

im dying my hair black again :)

I hear EMO ;)

R34 engine is the more superior engine out of all of them lol :P

Bahhahaha we are talking turbo yeah????

Life Story entry #333

Scored some timber yesterday for the house extension ... but not just any timber.

180m2 of recycled jarrah floor boards (80mm x 18mm) in various 600mm and 2m lengths. I went over my plans last night and calculated the requirements for the planned extension and the existing house ... and I only need 148m2 (not including wet areas).

Oh, and I'm paying under $3,000 for it!

So I guess I'm going to be busy over the next few weeks laying floors  But the jarrah will look so f**king hot when its done. Ordering the floor framing next week. Extension has been on hold for the past 2 months while we sell one of our properties.

;)

out of Nissan engines Krishy, otherwise the 2j wins the jap category

I know we were talking about the Nissan engineering on that topic Damo....just thought that i would mention that we were talking about DET not DE

I hear EMO :pirate:

Bahhahaha we are talking turbo yeah????

yes emo lol. and no we not talking turbo here krishy :P

What is that? :D

possibly the best god damn engine built, the RB25DE NEO :D:P

yeah tell me about it....Japanese automotive without turbo's i mean come on

means i have more torque than you so ner :P they didnt do wrong lol

yes emo lol. and no we not talking turbo here krishy :pirate:

I would love to compare my torque figures with yours at the dyno day cara....at least then we can say whether the DE or the DET has more torque.....and i so knew you were going all EMO on us.....and yes yes the japanese engineers got it wrong by not slapping a turbo on a few motors lol

u do realise that a NA engine has more torque due to the fact it dosent have forced induction to get everything going?

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
