Sorry for the coming long post, but I received this excellent 'on topic' email from my Mum just yesterday .... unfortunately I think a lot of guys on here will experience this in the coming 2 years of recession under the Krudd government. :)

The moral of the story is that rather than give below average income earners $1k to blow on pokies, booze, turbos etc (which is exactly what happened last handout and only benefited the hoteliers of Adelaide, not the economy in whole whatsoever), the govt should ease tax on businesses, so that 1. they manage to stay in business through the tough times, and subsequently 2. many people actually keep their jobs as a result of the businesses not going under and massively effecting the economy.

what a revelation Andrew.......could not have been said any better!!

Do you know that the majority of Australia's workforce is employed by small business, not big industry?!

Smarten up people and stop misdirecting your winging & whining to your boss but rather the gov.

On the money nightcrawler.

However I feel most people are entirely blaming Krudd for these troubled times.

Has alot to do with China. Alot to do with the US.

I feel Krudd took over government in very different times. Very different to the early 90s etc.

Its a different world. I wouldnt want to be in his shoes

At the end of the day we are still a lucky country. So I try not to whinge too much.

True. good fact.

But; The government is handing out lump sums to help the small businesses.etc (so they say) People will spend more with the lump sum. I agree some people will just spend it on the pokies.

In contrast; Buying a turbo. buying a swimming pool. Getting your car fixed up. are all helping small businesses. to a certain degree.

At the end of the day we are still a lucky country. So I try not to whinge too much.

don't know about us living in the lucky country anymore......that may have been the case a few years ago

Did anyone see the latest figures on home affordability around the world??

Only 10 years ago we were amongst the most affordable places on the planet to own a home, we have now moved up to around the top 10 of the least affordable on the planet......and I'm talking Adelaide here, not just Sydney!!

sled did you read alexander downers collum in yesterdays advertiser? its the only thing worth reading in that shocking paper, he finally let loose on what he thinks of rudds handling, very good read. i'll see if i can find a web link

and mind you, they are referring to an average household income (which usually means X2).

Anyone have any idea what the so called average income is at the moment........judging by the average age on these boards, only a small % would be on it and even less over it...........and if you don't have a missus to contribute, you're stuffed!

Here's one of the quotes from the above link:

The Deposit Power/REIA Affordability report for the September quarter found 36.6 per cent of household income was needed to cover average home loan repayments.

That tells me that it would be close to 100% of some of your wages! :)

no I didn't see it bud

this whole thing has me shaking my head. everyones going on about how awesome its going to be to get $1000, but they dont realise the long term cost of this. its billions of dollars in deficit over the next couple years, surely people can see the problem in that?

Thats deff one point alot of people dont address.

Without a partner or business counterpart how are you supposed to afford buying a house.

I dont go back on my word when saying we are a lucky country.

But I must agree that its very hard to afford and pay for a house. Almost seems you have to have no life and sit at home and constantly pay off your mortgauge with a lovely interest involved.

That's an awesome letter there Andrew... read it to my olds, they agreed 100% and have added it onto their mailing lists to send out to others. It's sad that people can realise this but somehow the government doesn't, or doesn't want to

but what can we do about it? the Majority of the population voted him in!

here, here!

ohh bull, the liberals just rode a wave of success, and they didn't capitalise when they had the oppurtunity to do things to help soften the blow when the eventual bust came.

And what goes up MUST come down it's simple.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
